Blood donation or blood letting an act of saving lives. By your blood more people can benefit from it. But there are people that they keep this as one of their source of income since nowadays blood plasma is so expensive. Blood letting is good on our health, don't you know that? Every time you donate blood you are renewing your blood and letting your bone morrow to its job to produce new kind of blood. Do you know already what is your blood type? Some of us don't know yet... Me, I regularly donate blood to our NATIONAL RED CROSS once every three months.. How about you guys, have you tried it?

Yes I understand because it is easier said than done...to make it sure if you are qualified or not you must see the attending physician on the blood letting occasion. Maybe it's only in your mind that you're not qualified as what I was before...Thanks for responding...

Everyone can donated as long as they are qualified. Here are some of the qualifications: You're at least 50kls up, no hypertension or not an anemic, and the rest of it would just be ask by the attending aid or facilitator...thanks for responding...

Yeah I donated once and i feel like i should donate blood as a manly duty to this country. my blood can save someone's life and the more blood that i donate, the better i actually feel about myself. so i might start donating tri-monthly.

I have not experienced donating blood in my whole life. The idea of saving a life is appealing to me, but undergoing the process of having a needle be pricked to me and me seeing my blood flowing from me to a blood plastic container is very nerve wracking for me. The scent of blood and the sight of it makes my stomach sick and I feel really dizzy. So I really do hope I wont be needing to donate blood even once in my whole life.

Just as you said, by your blood donation more people can benefit from it, maybe sometimes, your blood could even rescue a life. Last month, I donate 400ml blood to the natinal red cross, and I am really quite happy for doing that, though I do not feel quite comfortable after blood donation, I feel some kind of dizzy.

yes i donate my blood to the blood banks. because this is the only thing that a human can sacrifice. it have the power to save a persons life. if i can not donate blood then i will not get it whenever i really need it. when the supply of blood is too short then my blood can save a life of a man or a child or a baby or a mother or a father. it will be a best gift from me to a needing person

Yes I understand your side. Like you I was also afraid before. I was just being challenged because there were some other women who donated theirs but fearlessly. If they could do it why can't I, so, that's it. I fought my fears on that moment and I succeeded it. So, that's it. From that time on regularly I donated quarterly my blood for those other people lives...Thanks for responding...

I think its pretty noble of you to donate blood to the Red Cross. A lot of lives can be saved with your donations. I have a friend who donates blood regularly, he was also the one who told me that donating blood is good for the body. I just don't think that I am qualified to donate blood because I always lack sleep. I might actually need to have more blood myself hehe I wanted to try it before when I was younger and in a more healthier state but I had no idea how.

I really like to donate but i only weight less than 50kg. I am not qualify for it. Some of my friends donate their blood to Red Cross. They observe that their skin looks young, because their body produce new blood for then after their other blood is donate. Aside from helping people to add life to those who are in emergency situation. You could really proud for yourself knowing that you donate blood with no money paid for your blood. Your only benefits from doing it, you feel young again and strong after few days from date of your blood donation. For first time who will donate blood. They will feel weak as the body adjust to the changes as your blood is slightly decrease. But you will get back to normal self after eating food and rest body.

I guess you know well almost all the benefits. But, it would just sad to say you're not qualified because you're underweight. Well, I think the solution for that is you must eat more nutritious foods to gain weight before donating your blood...Thanks for responding...

To be honest then I have never donated my blood to any red cross, I feel afraid of the needles and even for a simple fever I prefer to administer tablets than taking needles but I know sooner or later I have to get this needle. My dad donates his blood regularly and he says that maybe he is saving many lives over there I do agree with him and I also know that I will have to go against this fear of mine with the needles to be able to give some bloods to save other lives.

Like you before I was afraid also of needles but I was challenge to do it in spite of my fears and I won. From that time on, I donated once every three months. It is good in our health...you must try it...if women can do it why can't you...

I actually really like donating blood. I like feeling like I'm doing something that could potentially save someone's life, and I think it's fun. I've never been scared of needles, and I think watching the blood pump is really fascinating. I love how it makes me think about the inside of my body and how everything works.

Hi, I know I'm a B+ since I was young, my parents told me to remember it and tell it if I had an accident. I started donating blood when I turned eighteen, but I couldn't do it everytime I was supposed to, because you can't donate in some particular situations. For esample, you can't do it if you had a relation with someone who isn't your partner from a long time before. Same goes if you went to some country considered at risk of some desease, or if you had surgery. To donate blood is a big responsability, and I hope everyone will act consequently, and do not donate if they have done something risky. I have also decided to donate organs, when I will pass out. I will not need them then.

We also have this Blood Bank, but you have to be classified to donate, you must be examinated regularly and if you are not healthy you can't donate. Men can donate every four months, women every six months only. Youy can't go donate blood if you haven't been examinated first. I think it is important to foolow this criteria, because the risk in taking other people's blood would be high otherwise. We donate in order to help, not to harm people. Thanks for opening the discussion

I am type "O" a universal blood type. Well, in our country we have a Blood Bank where people can voluntarily donate their blood for the people who can't afford to purchase the expensive blood. By giving free your blood not only saving somebody's lives but also it gives you good health...Once every 4 months would be the regular blood letting..Thanks for responding..

Hi, I don't regularly donate blood, but if there is a urgent need and my blood type is suitable, I will do it. I am rather uncomfortable with the blood-letting process though.

I used to donate a couple times each year. But then, at work one day (I work in health care), I was stuck with a contaminated needle. It wasn't infectious, but the red cross and other agencies make you wait a year before you donate. I just haven't gotten back. I always felt it was my responsibility to donate. I have O negative, which is the universal donor. It's what is used in emergency rooms when blood is needed immediately before the patients blood type is known. I think I'll set up an appointment to donate.

The regular here in Italy is three times a year for men (once every four months) and every six months for women. We are not allowed to donate more frequently in order to let our body enough time to healthly recreate blood. I'm not sure about it, but we should be allowed to donate plasma more frequently.

I wish i could donate blood, when my sister was hospitalized and needed 5 bags of blood i try to donate but i failed the screening because i was under weight. But i really want to help my sister good thing that she has a lot of friends who was capable of doing this. You are right by blood letting you lose your blood but it will be replaced by new one which is very good to your health. Aside from the good feeling that you know you have helped some one and saving their life.
