i was a loud reader when i was a student. i found this more beneficial since i understand more what i'm reading. besides i think the tongue is exercised. am an english as a second language speaker and this reading aloud really helped me even landing me a part time job of a disc-jockey (using english, of course, as the medium of communication) .

Hello Ritchelle. It was the same with me that I love to read aloud when I was a student because I think that it stimulates our memory to remember what we are reading. Even now after graduation from college for decades, I still love to read aloud sometimes when I have to memorize something from what I am reading.

I am a silent reader i never shout out my answers loudly just like my sister does she just yells out when she studies and it makes frustrated with her other people around her too.I dont like to shout and read i cant remember my answers by it.So i just be at peace and read my answers silently it gives a great relief and also i can keep them in mind.

I have always been a loud reader and i am like that since a child, my mom says its better to read loudly so that first of all I can develop my voice and then I can also understand what I am reading so I have adopted this strategy since a child and till today. I speak several languages and without this reading aloud I would never have learnt these languages.

I would prefer to be a silent reader as i do not like other people to hear me. Having some privacy would be good. When i read without speaking, i believe that my brain would be working more and i will be able to remember the contents more. I prefer to be quiet.
However, this really depends on one's preference, and different people will have different style of reading. :)
