Hey,
No, don't be worried. The computer uses almost all of the CPU when it starts up, it even happens on my laptop, just don't worry about it. I hope this has helped you. Make sure you have a good day, Happy Lotting!!

I don't think you need a new hard drive. The main noise makers in a computer system are the hard drive and the fans. If there was a major problem with your hard drive then you would probably hear a lot of noise if the disks inside were being touched by the arm inside. If you are able to boot to the desktop then you don't really have a problem. Just remember, carry out regular backups and if anything does go wrong it won't hurt you so badly. Andrew

Drive noise is perfectly notmal and you certainly don't need to get another drive. You should only worry if it's not making any noise at all!

I just confused, If you are using hard disk on desktop PC that is normal. Especially during startup on windows, a lot of files being transfer from harddisk to RAM. I have Seagate 80 GByte almost 2 years that it sounds same as new especially during startup.
Please paid more attention in your desktop casing. Did you give more screw to hold your hard disk? Normally, I just wait until hard disk give some error file reading indication. Then immediately, I just buy a new hard disk.
