How many times have you asked for an extension on a bill?

I ask this question because today I had to ask for an extension for my gas bill today was the last day I had to make a payment an it was do for disconection for tomorow. I hate asking for extensions on bills not because I have to call and tell them the reason why I can't make the payment on time I hate it because it makes me feel bad in knowing that I don't have the money to pay it. Before I got together with my curent husband I had my daughter and I worked and maybe ones a month I had to as for an extension on a bill and there were times that I did not have to ask for an extension. Now I have two kids and a husband that is trying to suport us but there are times that I think that he can do mutch more.
So my questions to you are.
How many times have you asked for an extention this year till now?
Have you had any disconection or cancelations because of not being able to pay?
When you get an extention are you able to make the full payment on that day?

Embarrassed to say I forgot a bill last month, and got a phone call..Had to ask
for an extension. Don't worry, you're not the only one in the boat! If you don't have the money, you don't have money. Yeah, I'll have the money to pay on the date I asked for. Whew!

why don't you approach your husband and tell him the same thing that you are discussing here.He would know what you expect from him.

I am so tired of living like this before I got together with my husband everything was better I worked and my daugher had what she needed. Now I have to kids and they don't have everything that they might need and it hurst me when they want to eat something from a fast food place and I don't even have 5 dollar to get them what they want. I hope that my husban can do something about it since so far what I see in him is that he loves to be with his friends most of the time and is always talking about fast cars. I hope that he can realize that there are also need that we have to pay attention to in our kids and us. Thanks for your coment have a great day or night.

I usually don't ask for an extension on a bill- but if I can't pay the whole thing. I just pay only part of it, and they are usually just happy as long as they are getting SOME of it.
I have decided to cut back on some things in order to help with the bills. If you are having a hard time with paying bills maybe you should reevaluate your lifestyle.
Do you have cable TV? Do you really need cable TV?
Do you have internet? Do you really need the internet?
You know what I mean?

That is a great idea but I am alredy doing that we have basic TV we eat more at the house and maybe one a month at a restaurant we are not going out to movies or to any other place that we need money to spend. The only thing that we are paying is internet but that is because I am trying to earn some money from home so I can take care of my kids and the house since I know my husband is capable but those not like to do it.

No, never had to do that at all. Cancel cable TV. If you cannot pay other bills there's no reason to have cable TV you can watch TV on your computer OR you can watch regular over the air TV (with antenna). At least you're trying to ask for extension, though.
Maybe you could reduce your other bills (reduce cell phone plan). Try to get VoIP plan such as vonage or magic jack instead of landline. Reduce eating out. Unplug unused electric appliances.
Post a lot on this site so you can some extra money. There's really a lot you can due to reduce expenses. Cheers!

That totally sucks! I am very thankful that I have never had to do that. I would be completely distraught about it! And it sucks even more because if you dont have the money now, how are you going to have twice the money next time to pay 2 months worth? 
I hope that you and your husband are able to work out something soon so that this doesnt keep happening! Perhaps he will help you around the house and you can get a part time job to help with the income.

Yes it those suck but the good thing is that we have one week to pay part of it and two more week for the rest. I was actually the only one that was working before and I had some problems with my husband because he really did not like helping around the house. But he did not mind asking for money from me since he was not working and now he those not have astable job. So I am scared that if I do get a job he would be all calm about it and not work again. I also have two kids one is 11 and the baby is 1 so that is why I would love to find something I can do to earn money from my house. Since I know that if he is not at the house and I am my kids are eating fine and have what they might need. Thank you for your coment.
