Hi, I read Dave Peltzer's book "A Child Called It" many years ago. It is a sad story indeed. It is so hard to fathom a parent doing to a child, what his mother did to him. There is also a sequel to the book called "The Lost Child" That also is a very good book.
Dave Peltzer has come a long way since his abusive childhood. He is now the Author of seven books. Here is a link to Dave Peltzer's website.

You are right he was a very brave boy. I can't even believe that he lived through all the Hell he went through. I think that child abuse is a serious issue and unfortunately it is getting worse even though we are trying to control it. I think that the problem is that we don't punish abusers harsh enough and keep them in prison long enough. After all it is sad taht we would rather put theives in prison instead of murders, rapists, and abusers. I am looking forward to reading his other two books and see how his life had progressed after being taken away from his mother.
