One Thing You Want to Do Before You Die

I got really into a series called Dead Like Me that is about 5 years old and is about how this teenage girls dies abruptly and becomes a grim reaper and has to take the souls of people before they die. One thing they constantly think about is what they would do if they knew they were going to die so I pose the same question on here except in a general manner.
If you have to decide on one of your goals to complete before you die what would it be? Would you base it on your career, love life, personal, family, etc?
For me I would love to do things like sky diving, and traveling but I don’t think those things would make me happy overall. Yes I’d be happy for a little while, before it happen, while, and a little bit afterwards but I think the thing that would make me really happy deals with my career.
For me I would love to become a well known reporter through the AP in politics. I would love to dive deep into the matter and really get the news out and get the stories that aren’t about things that don’t matter like music, etc.

First love that show. Second On the top of my kick the bucket list is three things
Shark cage diving with my family, yes a joint dream shared by myself, sister, father and cousin and now one of my kids.
Live for a while in Ireland and a bit in Scotland, I would like to see where my Grandmothers' each spent some of their lives as I never got a chance to know either of them as a child.
See at least my 50Th wedding anniversary. We are a 5Th of the way there and I believe in this day of divorce that it is even more important to make such milestones.

I never really thought about having people use their marriages anniversaries as goals because most of the time its just getting married but I do agree that most people don't think about the marriage lasting and they really should nowadays.
And a side note about the show - did you watch the movie they released straight to DVD earlier this year? Its abut them 5 years later.

I really would like to experience how it is like to be a mother before I die. I have seen the joys and pains of motherhood from the people around me (my mom, friends and acquaintances). I fervently hope and pray that day will also come for me coz we have been trying for so long and yet we have not been successful. I often times cry whenever i think that I might die and yet not experience being a mother. I think money, fame and success alone cannot buy anyone true happiness. I just wish that I can be a mother soon.

How many children are you looking to have? Any preferences with having either a son or daughter?

I personally do not want to know when I am going to die. I also feel that I am living my life to the fullest so that, if I do die, I have no regrets. When I was younger I liked to save my money for a rainy day. However, my grandmother once asked me what I am saving for. I told her my old age. My grams was a very smart lady. She told me enjoy your money and life now because you can not take it with you. You will not be able to enjoy seeing your family recieve the gifts you give them because you will be gone when they get your saving. My grams was right, she was not a rich woman, as a matter of fact she did have much money at all. It seemed that when she had extra money she spent it on her kids, grandkids and great grand babies. She enjoyed watching her money make everyone happy now while she was a live. I have tried very hard to enjoy like to the fullest at all times.
There is only one thing that I can think of that I would like to do before I die. I would like to see the Arora Borialis or Northern lighs, in person and up close one day. I have seen them in pictures and on television but I would just once like to see them with my own eyes.
My husband has done very well taking me all over the US to see the wonders it has to offer. I do not have a lot of money but I have seen and done more things than most people dream of. My last dream is comming true right now. We bought a nice house in Tennessee with five lovely acres of land. On this land I have seen wild turkeys, dear run around my back hard and even the lovely golder eagle has graced my home. Life is too short to have never done the things you want to. Do not regret what you do in life but what you do not do. Take the time to enjoy the money you work so hard for.

I absolutely love the advice on give about how its not all about saving money and I do agree with that but of course you have to know how much needs to be put away in case of emergencies so you aren't living paycheck by paycheck. I'm not saying immense savings but I think another thing to worry about is social security. Many people nowadays are seeing it being cut back so if you don't save yourself when you go to retire you are going to have to continue to work even if its a struggle to so I don't disagree with starting a savings plan for that because even if you don't live to retire at least you have money in case you do and if you end up dying beforehand just have it to where that money will go to a relative so tney'll see a brighter future. Yeah you might not be able to see it happen but before you die you'll at least know you're doing something good for your family.

Hi there Another X Identity!
Wow! You start really interesting discussions! Well, as for me, I would love to be able to travel around the world before I die. I want to see life in different places. Visiting another country for me is like having another life apart from my own and visiting countries around the world will make me feel like I have lived a lot of lives and I would be glad because it seems like I have only one life but didn't missed much. I would travel with my family, of course. They are my life and it will be all worthless without them.

Yes - traveling with family makes the experience so much better because its not like you are experiencing it alone you are building memories with people that not only they will be able to share but you can share it with each other as well as pass it down to others.

The show only lasted for 2 seasons but if you want to watch the entire series then you can go on hulu.com. That is exactly where I discovered it and got hooked and ended up finishing both seasons in about a week.

Sometimes it is best to think of a realistic goal. Therefore once you do reach that goal you'll feel better than always thinking to yourself that you're never going to be able to accomplish something.
Instead of saying history of the entire universe why not just study a specific topic and do something related to it. Like if you're interested in animals and the environment and how they interact with each other without the threat of humans try a goal of being able to travel and see it in person.

I would like to march in front of Congress with a picket sign that expresses my distaste for what they are doing and not doing for our country. If I was sick and in a wheelchair, I could wheel my way around there anyway with my sign. It may eventually come to that sometime soon. I can't march there now, I haven't the time.
