embracing change - can be quite positive.

nothing ever remains the same. Life is made of change. Sometimes we welcome that, other times we regret the fact that it is so. But our feelings about it don't change a thing. When things change we either embrace it, or fight it, but we can't stop it. Some people seem to be better at adapting and enjoying the new paths, while others struggle hard to keep things as they were before. Some will find the positives in the new ways and things and enjoy, some will stick with the way things were and might take some time until they actually enjoy the change. I tend to adapt easily while at the same time being able to retain bits and pieces of "what was" just enough to enjoy both stages. Hubby and daughter have more trouble with change and need some time to adapt and to feel comfortable with the way new things are. What about you? Do you enjoy or fear change? Do you need time to get used to it, or are ok with and have no trouble adapting?

I adapt quite well to changes, I guess being with the Army as an Army Daughter and then Army Wife has helped this, as there where always changes, My Children adapt well to We might not like it but we know we can do nothing about the changes, so it is either be miserable till you get used to it or adapt and retain as you say the bits and pieces

I have a harder time adapting to things that stay the same than to change. The only thing that is disconcerting about change sometimes is when it is unexpected. It can catch one by surprise. I like to plan things ahead, so unexpected change can make ones plans fruitless on occasion.

Yes, unexpected change sometimes catch us off-guard. I'm not much of a plan maker so it's not too bad with me :)

I fear changes ,even the happiest ones i worry that it should last for ever and fear.I need quite a lot of time to adjust, and feel comfortable with the change, confuse myself a lot and put me into unnecessary stress where as my hubby and my kids enjoy every thing to their maximum. At least my kids are not like me,i feel happy over that.

We certainly are not all the same, and people react differently to the same stimulus. My daughter is pretty much like you, and gets quite stressed until she adapts to change. My husband has trouble with it too, but functions a bit better than her.

I think my whole life is revolving around constant change. Maby this is not such a good thing. Like being unstable or accoustomed to being unable to situate without the right change. For this I say I embrace change, and accept that life is short, so just do it.. Also, a person must make change of so many things.. like clothes or shoes.. So, let all the people issues be in the people.. in my thought.. Fear of the same thing is not change either if it happens through different people, so sometimes.. I would fear not having change...

Your right, life is constant change. Sometimes it takes us like a storm and we don't even know which way we're going. That can be a bit scary. But change bring positive things as well, and I believe in enjoying what I can't change:)
