Hi there Xchyler!
I used to have two credit cards but I just stopped using it. I just carry cash with me now when I need to buy something. Most of the things I bought using my credit cards were major appliances such as a new television, washing machine, refrigerator and DVD player.

In have 2 credit cards. Being on a limited income means I sometimes need a credit card. I can't always pay it off but I do so when I can. I'm very careful and I don't go on spending sprees, just use my card when an opportunity presents itself or for necessities. The thing people seem to forget is the monthly interest fee. Or the yearly fee. Then there's the late fee. People need to be aware that their purchase of $200 ends up costing much more than that if you are not careful.

I use credit cards all the time..But I also watch my spending and pay off the card I use within a month or two. It helps to build up your credit which so many people don't have these days. I know of a person who has a car, house etc but no credit at all..He used cash to purchase everything so when he went to buy a car recently he was charged more because he didn't have credit established. So in a way it is good practice to have a 3, but no more than 3 credit cards just for credit alone. It doesn't mean you have to use them. Some credit cards advice you to use them at least once a year it all depends on the company. Always read the fine print before getting a credit card. They also have hidden fees and out of this world rates (26%) etc. All in all I believe they are good because they help to establish your credit.

Credit card for me is important. I've learned to disciplined myself shopping using credit cards. I don't had problems using card in fact it's really a help. I used that only for emergency and to tighten my budget. Like groceries on sale and milk for my baby. I don't over used it. My expenses is the same so I could pay my card statement. The good news is I think I can save a lot because of my cards. Happy mylotting!

hello xchyler,
Indeed I have credit card but only one. I use it only if it is necessary for it's hard to pay a lot of bills and give me a lot of headache. I seldom go to the mall to avoid unnecessary shopping. For if I go to the mall, there is a tendency for me tobuy stuffs that are not necessary. And that what is the thing that I don't like to happen to me. Indeed it's just easy to buy things using the credit card but it's all up to us to minimize or avoid it. We must have control to our self or we'll be the one to suffer the consequences - and that is paying the bills.

I have more than ten credit cards. My friends always joke me about it, but I like it. I can use different cards for different purposes, grocery, bill payment, gas, restaurant... You can always find some promotions from them, so you can always get credits from them.

I too work in a private sector and once in 2 days I get a call from Bank employees who mention about the unique features of their credit cards and pursue me to get them. I have never used credit card so far. I make us dependent upon them thus tempting us to spend more. According to me, Credit card is one of the main reasons for this Recession and the use of credit card has to be minimal. I feel bad for the people who keep on purchasing in credit cards more than their earning strengths. That may prove a disaster to them as the days pass by and many fails to understand about that.

We have credit cards for certain stores (Home Depot and Best Buy) but don't have a general credit card. My hubby and I both beleive that if you really want something, and don't have the money for it at the moment, you should work hard and save up to buy the object of your desire, not just have instant credit that may or may not ever get paid off.

i do not have credit cards. in the place where i used to work they always offered us to take credit cards. however, i really stood by my decision not tot have it. the main reason is that i don't want any liabilities. having a credit card in your wallet is really tempting. when you see something you like, you want to buy it because you have the means to. with a credit card on hand, a really thrifty person could turn into an impulsive buyer. that's because when you buy something you won't have to think about having cash. you can just pay it later. then one day you receive a letter from the bank telling you that you have a $$$$$$$ debt from the bank. that's when you realize that credit cards are no good. but it's too late, you already learned your lesson.

But there are severe consequences of having so many credit cards...meaning having too much or too many debts as well. i know, some of my family members are suffering from it..i have a debit card, though.

No I do not have a credit card and I will not get one, not even to get a credit rating. I had one in my life and I will not have another. Now if I don't have the money at hand I don't get it. The one I had with my ex, I ended up with the balance that he was suppose to pay and he didn't. I ended up with that bill. So no I will not get another one, if I don't have the money for something means I don't get it.

I am not really enticed by credit cards. With my work, I know I have the capacity to pay for it and many banks would love to approve my application. Unfortunately, they get nothing from me because I don't like the idea because I will be paying it anyway. The payment due date is just prolonged but I will still have to.

talking about credit cards i think i have too many credit cards now.
i almost have 7 credit cards from chinese banks, plus two from british banks.
i got them because i can get points when i use them. However it made my life a little confused. Luckily for now i never forget to pay my bill.
i think later i will cancel some of them then make my life easier.
For small benefit i spend so much time, it doesn't deserve it.

I have credit cards, but I don't used them often because I'm afraid I might not be able to pay them and also I don't want debts, as much as possible I try not to use it. Though I have some credit card debt from buying gadget the good part is it's zero interest.
