Hi Chaitra!
Yes, you are right there are many ready to cook products available in the market. Though they are easy and simple to prepare in our hour of need, yet they cannot be compared with home-cooked food. I suppose, preservative are also mixed in ready to cook products besides other ingredients, therefore, they may not be so good for our health. I sometimes buy ready to cook products, however, we prefer to have freshly cooked home made food. The people who stay single (I mean without their families) and those who are in a hurry, for them, these kind of ready to cook products are boon.
Have a great day!
Deepak

Some are indeed good but they are not as healthy as natural food. Some are chemically altered already so can't keep track of how much calories, salt or sugar we have already taken in. Although its good to pamper your taste buds once in while but indulging to these products often won't do good in you.

Not that healthy, they are still with chemicals. Although eating them not a daily basis will be just fine, just for the sake of tasting it. I like knorrs different selection of soups. You just need to boil water and pour in the content, and walla! you got yourself a wonderful and tasty soup.
But i don't do it regularly. I still opt to cook fresh vegetables and this will be healthy for us. But I also have nothing against intant foods or ready meals.
We simply eat them if we don't have enough time to prepare food, or if we are on the go. Like Nissin cup noodles, just pour hot water and wait for some time, then you can eat your noodles just fine.

I do agree with you that there are lots of them readily available in supermarkets and other stores. The advantages are that they are very convenient and cuts down on the preparation and cooking time for meals. These are especially good for those working mothers who do not have much time to cook. As for if they are tasty, I will say that there are some which do taste good. As for if they are healthy, I do agree with some that there are lots of preservatives in some of them, in order to be able to be kept for long periods of time. However, it will be best if we can just spend a few minutes at the store looking at the nutritional value as well as the ingredients before buying any ready cook products. This will be a good guide on whether if the ready to cook products are healthy enough for our family.

REady to eat...ready to cook...whatever you call it....I'm not sure of the nutritional value of these products or if they are healthy. But I personally, do not like the taste and use it only when it's an emergency and I have absolutely nothing to eat at that point of time.

Not tasty. Barely eatable. Completely unhealthy. My stomach does not even tolerate that stuff. I have found many dishes are very easy to make from scratch and doesnt take much time either.

Hai chaitra!Ready mix items in stores are fast to cook and they are delicious too.It saves time and come in handy to serve unexpected guests. It is more useful for mansion residing guys who prefer them for a change of taste. Now for the disadvantages, the ready mix foods contains preservatives which are not good for our health. And they are more spicy which will not suit everybody. So,go for ready to cook foods only for fun and don't take it as a regular diet.Cheers!

I seldom go for ready to cook products because it's really not healthy to eat too much of them. They do tastes nice but, we can't cook those products according to our prefer taste. I prefer to go for fresh food, which i can prepare according to my preference. Besides that, ready to cook products tends to cost more as well. So, i only go for ready to cook products when i am in hurry or out of time to prepare a good meal...

instant to eat products are really a nice way to prepare food if you are in a hurry. provided of course that these products are tasty. otherwise it is like eating cardboard with water . nestle does make good instant food products. sometimes the manufacturer's name is a good gauge to see whether one instant food product is tasty or not. they list the food facts on the back of the label so some of them make sure they add nutrients or so to them.

Whenever I am sick or out of station, my hubby does use these Ready To Cook Products. He feels it is very comfortable to cook, and most importantly, time saving.
I have tasted these products once in a while and my hubby joins me in endorsing that these products are really "value for money". I have had opportunity to use variety of brands and among these MTR stands out for its Quality taste.
Regarding health angle, I must say these may not have the Original Health percentage in them, but surely they are Not Non-Healthy.
Simply because, these products are prepared in Hygienic conditions and follow all norms required for them to passed by the ISI or BSI standards.

I don't think consuming ready cook products are good for our health if we are to consumed very frequently like once a week...if once a while, then it should be Ok.Like Maggi Instant Noodle for example, this is not good to consume every week.I heard some people said it will lead to cancer if were consumed too much. I myself will stick to Instant Noodle abt 3 times/month(the most). I do eat instant oat once a while. It is still the best to eat home-cook food everyday.

Hi Chaitra,
As we know the packed foods are not good for health. But many people are using the same only because of its taste. I think the most popular product is ‘Maggie’. My kids are so fond of this product but I am trying my best to limit the consumption and providing the same only once in a week. I do agree it is tasty but we have to control the use considering the health point of view. The same way every product has its own advantages and disadvantages and ‘we’ are responsible to using excessively. The only thing is we should take care of this and give more importance on health rather than the taste.

Most of them are filled with junk that we don't need and is probably not good for us, but they provide a much-needed convenience in this harried world, so they are good for something, I suppose.
I'm not a very picky eater and I do enjoy some boxed meals. I would much prefer fresh vegetables and freshly cooked meals rather than from a box, but sometimes time (and finances) don't allow that, so I opt for what I can grab quickly and inexpensively.

Hello Chaitra,
Hope you're doing fine.. I saw you after a long gap here.
coming to the topic, I do not have a great deal of taste for ready to cook products. I used ready to eat maggie noodles some time back and I didn't like it at all. It has prevented me from trying out other products.

Well some of them are tasty. Like those ready made pasta dishes that you add milk, water and butter to. I like those.
As far as beeing healthy, nothing is as healthy as a home cooked meal with fresh ingredients but as long as you don't eat the ready made stuff like every meal, I dont think it will hurt you.
