India have a tough task on their hand. They are facing South Africa first up. No easy warm ups this time. Austrlia meanwhile have defending champs Pakistan in their group.
Dont you think its the World Cup is being held too soon? I means Pakistan dont even get enough time to enjoy their win.

Yes it is unfortunate that Pakistan can't enjoy much as they have got very less time to savor their World beating feat. But ICC had its reasons for that. The major one is that The FIFA Soccer world cup is being held in South Africa in the same year and it was decided that South Africa will host the ICC T20 World cup. So ICC decided to conduct the world cup sooner so that it won't clash with the Soccer world cup.
But there would have been other ways too if they wanted to considered.
Yes, India will have to show good show in the opening matches so that they can enter the next stage with good confidence.

The T20 is in West Indies and not South Africa. South Africa is hosting the champions trophy this September.
I just read somewhere that the ICC decided to hold the T20 next year because of the disturbance with the Champions trophy Schedule. Another Champions Trophy was suppose to be held in 2010. But since the 2008 Champions Trophy was postponed to 2009 and with the World Cup 2011 coming up, the ICC thought It would be too many 50 over events close together and so decided to have a T20.

I love cricket but I love only world cup matches and no other matches like those 20-20 whose playing only for business purpose, and after those match fixing cases I don't trust on this kind of matches. Ya if I concentrate on your view BCCI is now hungry to catch more and more money in their BANK. and They are continously arranging matches.and well I don't care that indian players are tired and they are not able to play. Man They are getting Crores and Lakhs of money and for that they must play. they are not hardworking men like normal man in company.

good to see a cricekt purist here. Your right, cricket is getting very commercialised and players are earning a lot for little work. If this trend continues players will be willing to scarifise test for some quick cash in T20s. cricketers are getting a lot of mony these day in fact probably a bit too much.

Yeh Pakistan does not have enough time to be referred to as World Champs, which really reduces the value of a World Cup. ICC had some scheduling problems and that why they had to squeeze in a World T20 before the World Cup. Next year will be tough for India right from ball 1. It wont be a walk like this time and no place for experiments.

It is not very great scheduling of events by the ICC according to me. If you see, we can keep the T20 World Cup in one year and the following year as the IPL eventer which won't exhaust the players going into major competition like this. It was very unfortunate that Sehwaq carried and injury while going into the T20 world squad.
Well, Pakistan is a team which in major tournaments can always be considered as a dark horse, as we never know that in this sort of events, they can even beat the toughest of the oppponents. But there is also another thing like complacency which might come into their way now that they are the T20 World Cup 2009 winners.
While, India should be furious to themselves only over their early exit this year and now they should really try to make a statement by defeating the much powerful team of South Africa to make an impact in the early going!!
