does it rain a lot in your area?

It's rainy season for us in here in the Philippines, I hate it when it rains as i'm obliged to use the umbrella, or wear jacket if i don't feel like using the umbrella. I do also hate the strong winds with rains as it wouldn't be of much help even if you use your own umbrella, you will still get wet. In some other parts of our country, floods is one of the main issues arising. I'm still lucky because I'm not from that area, where it's always been normal for them to walk barefoot on their stinky roads. Share your experiences, do you also experience these as well?

It's been raining these past few days here too but were not in rainy season on the contrary.Im not a rain fanatic and here on the tropical island its expected from time to time. The way rain have evolved nowadays and umbrella is not much use anymore as you still end up getting all wet. we had some flooding here once but not as huge as other countries have experienced it as seen on the news. I guess for now ill keep on singing'Rain, rain go away come again another day cheers!

I currently put up at singapore. And the climate here is throughout the year almost the same, Rainy and humid. That's it. So we do experience rain almost daily, throughout the year...

Our Spring and Summer weather has been very strange this year. We usually get quite a bit of rain in the month of April but this year we've had heavy rains May, June and July. Early this morning it started raining and before it stopped I had 4 inches in my rain gauge. We were bailing water out of our basement for 6 hours, the main sewer lines had filled up and couldn't handle the load. It sure makes a mess when that happens.

We have been having a lot of rain here too. I also hate dumbrellas. I call em that because when the wind blows hard they go inside out. They are better used as sunbrellas. I do carry at all times the plastic rain panchos that they sell at dollar stores.

Thanks! I wasnt trying to be cute but it describes them correctly. Rain panchos is like a plastic bag with arm holes and a hood. Like a raincoat. Im surprized you dont have them in your country.

I'm from the Philippines. Oh yes, it is raining a lot here today! I don't like rainy days for they bring with them floods, colds virus, mud, bad smelling laundry and heavy traffic. I live quite near to my office so I save in transportation if I am able to walk to work. But with the rains, I have to take a ride to work. There goes my savings!

I guess that there are some solution from those problem that you've mentioned above. One is to take your laundry at a pretty good laundry services (during rainy season) so you'll get a satisfying scent. Colds - you can get some vitamins to strengthen your immune system.

Hello incredible DNA, well it's summer now here in Greece and I doubt we'll see any rain for the next few months, maybe just the one off downpour if a storm descends. When the heat is as unbearable as it is at the moment a quick downpour would be quite welcome and everything would smell so fresh again after it. Last winter we had more constant rain than anytime in the last 30 years, it was continual, day after day, not just rain but torrential rain, it just never seemed to stop.

It is the dry season now where I live as it is winter. We have had a lot of bad flooding nearby over the last year as we have had huge amounts of rain. Luckily here has not been too bad but all around our area had a lot of damage earlier this year! Finally at the moment I am able to get some work done in my yard as I could not do much over the summer because of all the rain! :-)

We have rain to the point of flooding at times. In 2007 there was a flood that killed 3 people. This year we had so much rain that it was flooding all around me but it didn't get high enough like 2007 for them to pull out the boats and have to pull people out. I still have pictures of the flood it was insane...

In my city Mysore, it rains, but not all the while. In coastal areas, it just pours. For us here, it is quite bearable. It pours for a short while, and then everything is back to normal. I like it this way. I don't have to water my garden.

I have never had to deal with that much rain. The closest was when I was living in China. When I was there, there would be times that it would rain really hard and I would get soaked walking to class. I am now back in the states and, while we have had rain, mostly it is at night. One day I did have to ride my bike to work and my legs were soaked, but that is because I was out in it for half an hour or more and the rain coat had used didn't cover my legs. When I was growing up in southeast Alaska, it rained all the time, but it was a misty rain and I had gotten used to it so it didn't bother me to walk in the rain with nothing but a light jacket. I don't think I could go back there again because now I don't like rain at all. Thanks for bringing up the topic.

In Malaysia, it is raining no stop for the past four days, I hate it too when it rains, as it is giving me a tough time driving down to college. It is so hard to see the road and sometimes another irresponsible dude would drive very fast and scared the heart out of me. It is harder to move around also when it rains, since we need to use umbrella and it is like so hard to carry one everywhere we go.

This time of year it rains at least twice a week here, if not more often. There can be flash floods in some areas, espically close to the marshes.
