Do you get disturbed when you are on internet and some one keep on talking to you trying to draw your attention? How do you react to that? I have been in this situation upteen times. Though I am a good listener, some times it becomes very difficult to attend. Finally I do give in, putting off my computer, to come back later. How do you react?
meapas.

My fiance and I will sometimes talk whilst I am using the computer, or vice versa, when he is using the computer. Sometimes I initiate the conversation, but then start responding, commenting, or starting a discussion or reading a response, discussion or comment, and I then am distracted, and am trying to read or type. I get a bit annoyed, but it's really my fault. I give in or ask him to wait a minute, and then give him my full attention.

Yes, you learn from how others feel from how you yourself feel. Lol, it is definitely an eye opener, and human. Lol. I appreciate your comment back to me.

I think it is a piece of cake. First, I landed on my MSN on a mode of hiding and you can see who is on line. If there is someone who you don't want to talk to on line, you can get rid of him or her. Second, if some one kept talking with you, you can make up for a reason to get away with him or her. And you certainly can left him or her talk and don't take notice of him. OK, Best withes to you!

This happens to me too and specially at office. What’s more infuriating is that you cant even snap at your colleagues like you can at home. At home if I am on the net and hubby or my son wants my attention, they get my wrath instead…they know the better than to disturb me when I am online…they even joke that my online friends are more precious to me than them LOL
However, at office its really very irritating. Specially there are people who would give their right thumb to know what you are doing…OMG they are so curious! They will either walk casually and come and stand behind you on the pretext of something or they will strike up a conversation and try to know what exactly you are doing. I really don’t know how to snub them effectively but mostly, I just minimize what I am doing and listen to them…they either get bored and walk off or on seeing me minimize the page, they get the hint and move away.

Well I guess it depends on what you are doing on the internet. For me, whenever i'm just browsing around I really don't mind talking while doing it. But when I'm doing HTML and other coding, I prefer my surroundings to be Silent for me to be able to concentrate better.

Yes, i do get disturb especially when i am typing in my computer. SOmetimes my husband will keep on talking while I am typing and I sometimes get irritated and i tell him to talk to me later or after I have done what I was doing. It entails a lot of concentration if you are doing something and others are trying to strike a conversation.

Hello meapas. I am also easily disturbed by someone who keeps talking to me when I am using the Internet. Right now my wife is talking to me, asking to go and take a shower as it is too late at my end. I stopped to listen to her first before I can go on using the Internet. I think that I will have to stop and go for a shower and sleep...

Even I have experienced this situation a lot of times.
Actually I have a habit of logging into social networking sites, and then checking my mail, myLot account, etc.
So what happens is that people think I am online and begin pinging me. I don't know why, but I get furious at such situations and ask them to leave. Sometimes I am polite enough to say that I am busy.
I guess I should seriously work out my Internet etiquettes and try to calm down when I found myself in such a situation. It's all a matter of time.
I do have exceptions in these cases. Like whenever my best friend, or a girl wants to talk to me, I usually carry on a chit chat for sometime, and then forbid them.
Regards,
AJ-Rox

yes i do get disturbed when i am online... not just a few times but a lot. i have three kids, and the youngest of them is 2 years old, whenever i am online and he is awake, most of the time he will get my attention to do something for him and he does that many times. it does get annoying sometimes especially if i am doing something important. so what i do is if he starts on it, i just stop using computer for a while and attend to what he likes, after he had been satisfied with whatever it is, i will go back to my online business thing.
