Do you think eatable should be allowed at work place?

Hi All, I am working in a company where we cant eat or drink any thing at our desk. water is allowed but other things are not allowed.
I know it can damage the key board and the mouse if eating thing falls on it. But still other companies allowe it.
actully if they allow we would save our break time and we will do lot of work 
At home i eat at my computer desk but never eat anything which can fall in between the keys.
what about you? do you eat at your desk at home or office?

I think it should not be allowed coz the remains will give invitations for crockroches.
On our work floor it is not allowed to eat anything as it is a rule , but i & my frined do sometimes eat chipsonly when we are too hungry and have no time to go to the cafeteria. But we make sure we dont let anything fall down.
After all Rules are made to be broken..

For me,i think what your company's policy not to eat infront the keyboard is right. It will avoid any mess and damaged to your keyboard. And i think eating while working isn't good idea and can create any mess.
I do eat sometimes in front of my pc at home and sometimes having coffee.

Hi rainmark. i think you are right too. eating at desk will create a mess. so for now eating in cafeteria is only option left thankd for the responce

Hi there, well i am not favor with those people who eat food while working. Especially when they are working in front of computer. Anyway, you can eat during breaktime, drinking water while working was ok with me. Hope i can make sense here happy mylotting.

for me, i think it is not really right to eat at the office while working. we are given a time for that during our break time. it is not proper to eat while working at the office and make it looks like we are at home, we can do it at home since nobody will be bothered by it, but at the office, we do not know if there will be visitors dropping by any minute, and if they see us eating during office hours they may think that the company is not run by professionals.
