I have bursitis in my right hip. I've had it for about 8 months. I finally saw an orthorpedic surgeon yesterday and he gave me a big ole shot right in the joint. It didn't hurt too bad. They put numbing solution in the first part of the injection so that you don't feel the needle in the joint too much. You do feel pressure though! Anyway, I woke up this morning with the WORST Charlie Horse from it. Now, I'm in more pain. LOL!! I live in an apartment with a hot tub, so I think I'll go there this morning and see if that hot water will work it out for me. Has this ever happened to you? Tell me about your experiences with bursitis.

Hi, sorry to hear this. To tell you the truth I don;t know what bursitis is and hope I'll not get one as I'm very afraid of injections
Hope you get well soon, and I think you need to rest.

Bursitis is inflamation of the padding called the Bursa in your hip or knee or shoulder or elbow sockets. It's a fluid filled sac and if you get an injury or just overwork it, it will get inflamed and very irritated. If you don't take care of the injury right away, it becomes chronic and then they call it bursitis. I already had to have surgery on my left shoulder for it. They had to shave off a bone spur. You would not like the injection because the needle gets inserted into the joint. No fun!~

STill in physical therapy for this bursitis! Seems like it should be feeling much better by now and it's not. I asked the Dr. to Xray it last week, so the they did. It didn't show any arthritis, I'm so GLAD about that!!! And, it showed that everything look good. Of course, an Xray is not going to show any soft tissue if there is a different problem. Has anyone out there had Avascular Nicrosis? I'm concerned that I might have that. Any input anyone?
