Shopping Alone

Do you like shopping in a group or shopping alone? I prefer to shop alone then I can go at my own pace and not feel rushed or be dragged into stores that I do not want to go in. If I'm at the mall with my boyfriend he and I will split up and do our own shopping or he'll stop at Brookstone and talk to his friends and then we'll meet up and then go to the electronics store together because we both like that stuff....my favorite day to go shopping alone is on black Friday because I literally will plan out my whole day the night beforehand and have a time to be at a certain store to hit up the sales.

The only person I could shop with was my mother, as she and were so much alike. I can't shop with my hubby, because he looks so bored when I do. So we split up now, and I can feel at ease to look at whatever I wish. It's liberating! :O)

My mother is the one person who I can't shop with at all. We drive one another crazy because we have such different tastes in things, especially clothes. We do agree a little more on house things but when I do move into a house I really think she will try to decorate it herself so it's her style lol.

it depends on whom i'm with.. coz If i'm with my husband my answer would be I'D RATHER GO ALONE, but it's a different case if i'm with my girlfriends. We really love to hop from one store to another searching for the best and great value for our money..

Good point Debkie I find this true especially when I'm with a friend who shares the same interests and likes the same shops :D

Hello dreamr802! I can actually do both. There are time when I go shopping with other people. There are also times when shopping alone is more preferable. Most of the time however, my boyfriend accompanies me. I am actually fine with that as he haggles very well. He haggles better than I do. So having him with me when shopping is a plus.

I agree with you; sometimes it's easier to get what you want done, when you're alone. It's harder when you're with friends or family - because you have to compromise and go where they want to, too. I only like shopping alone when I'm really determined to get something in particular, or when I'm in a rush. But otherwise - I like shopping/browsing with friends - it's a nice time to catch up and shop at the same time.

I agree sometimes shopping with friends is good if you are browsing or you need advice on buying something, but when I'm going for something specific I want to be alone.

I prefer shopping on my own.it takes me some time to choose my clothes.I want to enjoy shopping without worrying about somebody else getting annoyed or bored.I want to spend my time in one store for as long as I can making my choices and fitting them.

It all depends on what I am shopping for. If it is for personal stuffs including clothings, I prefer to shop alone for the same reason as you. I can take my own time and patronise the shop I prefer. I would have my friend with me if I am shopping for stuffs where I can do with some advice. It pays not to shop alone if there is a great sales going. At least the person can help to join the queue while you are still hesitating over to buy that piece. lol.

I like shopping alone. No one is there to make any negative comments or talk me into something I dont like or need. I get in a shopping mood and usually find a store that's open all night and just shop until I've had enough or I'm tired and need to go home and go to sleep. In a way, it's a kind of theraphy for me. I shop for me or whoever is on my mind, holidays, etc..... walking, browsing kind of heightens my mood, especially when it's winter and it's cold and icey outside. Gives me time to think on my own and if I get something nice for myself, I deserve it most likely and we all need to spoil ourselves in little ways once in awhile.

i usually go shopping with my partner. i'm not comfortable shopping with others for several reasons. firstly, i got to consider if what i'm looking at interests the other party. also i got to look at things that i don't usually do but my friend want to. with my partner, it's a totally different story. we like the same things so we always go shopping together. also he is able to give me honest opinions about things because he knows the most about me.

i like to shop alone for the exact same reasons you mentioned. shopping for me is also a chore so i like to get in and get what i need and get out. it is not an event like it is for some people with unlimited funds who can just buy whatever they want and not worry about the price tag. i have very limited funds so i bargain shop and only buy what is necessary.

I am the same with you. I do not like to be companies by others, and I like to do something myself, for example, going shopping. Last time I go shopping with my roomates, and they just pick and pick, and waste a lot of time in a shop I do not like, and I feel so tired that day. So I prefer to determine things myself.

I don't prefer going alone as I'm afraid that I might make bad choice. So, the best person that I like to take along will be my elder sister! She's so good in shopping, also very very very energetic! At times, I must beg her to go home!

Yes, I like to shop alone too. It get me more peaceful and the bst thing is could shop freedomly. But once in a while going out with friends for a shopping trip is great too. At least there is some one you can ask about their opinions on what design to choose, or what color to take. I do enjoy shopping with my hubs too. That is because he will pay for all the things that I buy, LOL!

Yup i totally agree that sometimes shopping alone really helps if you need to cover many areas and sometimes a companion could be a distraction especially if they are your husband, hehe. Because in my case, whenever i go shopping with clothes i usually prefer that my mother-in-law accompany me rather than my husband who is very impatient. You know as girls we really are sometimes indecisive as to what looks best on us.

I prefer to shop alone too. When you are shopping in groups, there are going to be a lot restrain and complaints here and there from one another, complaining that we spend too long at a corner or they are spending too long there.Sometimes when we are shopping alone, we get more freedom to roam around and also look at the things we want to look and buy for a generous amount of time without being bugged.

I like doing both. At the weekends I tend to like to go with my friends as it is a bit more relaxed and more fun. I do prefer to go shopping by myself sometimes as it is a lot easier to go at your own pace and go into whatever stores you want to. I tend to find going shopping at the weekends, is a lot more busy, so i like to go on weekdays.
