The Doctor Seduced Me!

That is right he did, that gastardly doctor! I have been off sodas for about two years now and it did me a world of good. (accept for my famous colaweizen which is another story lol) Then they decide to come out with cherry DrPepper! How dare they come out with something so irresistible and then put it on sale for a price a bargain hunter like me can't resist! I only wanted a little taste, I swear! But as it was sitting there chilled in my fridge, and one thing led to another and next thing I knew,Fanta that seductive little tramp, and others, found their way into my fridge. My soda free days are over and I am blaming it all on the Doctor! Have you ever resumed something you gave up and what made you go back to it?

I to loved pepsi but I haven't drank it in years now. I only drink sun green tea, unsweetened tea or hot tea. I stopped drinking it knowing that it wasn't really good for you. It puts the weight on plus knowing that if you pour it over a car the paint of the car will come off. That made me realize "what could this be doing to my insides". So with that knowledge I'm able to live the rest of my life without Pepsi.

Yup, that's why I quit the soda too, but then one taste is all it took for me to get hooked again lol.

Rock and Roll! LOL I gave it up when the kids came along, but now that they're gone, I can't start my day without Buddy Holly et al blaring from my CD player. Of course a pot of coffee helps too! ROFL

LOL Oh yeah, nothing gets you going in the morning like coffee and some good music! I'm a grouch in the morning before my first cup. I heard my hubby once say to my neighbor, "OMG she's up I better go make coffee real quick before the beast in her comes out" LMAO.

My brain doesn't wake up until lunchtime if it doesn;t get stimulated properly and coffee alone doesn't seem to do it anymore LOL. Which is a bad thing, considering I start work at 8am and have been put in charge of inventory now. The boss figured out that I'm a number freak so I got slapped with that responsibility LOL. I drink coffee ALL day long and I think my body is getting a bit immune to the effects lol.

OMG ...you sound like me and cigs. Yes I quit and I just cant stick it out. I do the same thing with DD iced coffee. I am so unsuccessful when it comes to quitting my addictions. I have a couple of friends that battle the soda addiction and they do ok for a time but it takes nothing to draw them back into it. I could tell you a ton of storys of why I got drawn back in to whatever it was I was momentarily quitting but the truth is ...they'd all be stories.

LMFAO When I read this I was laughing so bad. I love how you worded the discussion. But yes I know where you are coming from. With me when I found out that I had cervix cancer I stopped eating chocolate and all the junk food out completely except for once a week I would eat a little bit because the way I see it you can't refuse all your favorites. But then one thing leads to the next just like you, I can't resist it. Chocolate is everything to me, if there was to be no chocolate on earth any more I would most likely die from chocolate deprivation. I will say though that I walk a lot and such to work off that chocolate. For me I use chocolate as my comfort food when life is roughed up from time to time. Happy Mylotting

Wow, you are one gutsy chick, having to face down cancer AND give up chocolate? OMG you must be superwoman! I think I could deal with one or the other if I had to, but not both at the same time. Please accept my sincere wishes for a lifetime of good health in your future.

Thank You for the sencere wishes of a healthy full life. That means a lot to me. It's tough but it is worth it being able to be around. I just wish I could it everyday like I use to but research I found online said that losing weight and maintaing low weight will help lower the chance of spreading. Even though I have found giving up a lot of my favorite foods does not help me lose weight. I walk a lot but to me it does not seem to be working even if the scale shows that I am losing. But soon I will be able to eat chocolate again everyday I hope.

I am also a chocolate addict, love my chocolate! I agree with kitty that you must be superwoman, having to deal with cancer AND giving up things that you enjoy has got to be one of the toughest things to deal with. I admire your strength and willpower, because I know it has got to be hard. But with the positive attitude that you have,I'm sure you will beat this thing! I also wish you a very long and healthy life. Have you ever tried dark chocolate? It's suppose to be good for you, it has antioxidants and stuff in it, so if you can get used to the taste, you can still indulge and feel good about it.

I am hooked on Coca-Cola products, including Cherry Coke, Vanilla Coke, BlackCherry Vanilla Coke (can't find THAT anywhere), Dr. Pepper, and now the delicious and delightful CHERRY Dr. Pepper! If I don't have at least 12 ounces of one of those sodas every day I get physically ill, bedridden with headaches and chills! But I can take or leave the most addictive narcotic pain meds that have been given to me over the years with no problem at all, go figure. If you found Cherry Dr. Pepper for cheap, you need to tell me where so I can get it, the A&P is always out of it and I've never seen it at Hannafords or Stop & Shop. Hey, you're here a lot lately, did you actually quit your job to mylot? LOL! Yes, I did quit something and went back to it, I quit smoking while carrying my babies, and have since gone back because I need SOMETHING to keep me from going on a postal style rampage! I only do it outside where they can't see me do it though. If you're gonna drink soda, try to do it in moderations, and whatever you do don't drink diet, since that stuff is POISON! Better off quitting all together instead of killing yourself with those diet soda chemicals. Screw Gov. Paterson and damn him straight to hell for wanting to put higher taxes on sugar soda only, I guess he thinks it's better for us to get cancer from the diet crap? Basstard.

It as on sale at Stop&Shop during the 4th of July weekend. Five 12packs for $11. No way I could have said no to that lol. I didn;t know they had black cherry vanilla coke! I need to find some! I NEVER drink diet soda, diet soda is an abomination I think, it's grosse.Next time I see a good deal on it, I'll alert you lol. Nah, we have been really slow at work lately and I been using some of my vacation time for a couple of days of leisure time here and there lol. I made the 4th of July weekend into a long weekend and took half a day today. I could get used to this LOL.

Where I live in Upstate NY it's called A&P, but on Long Island where I grew up it's called Waldbaum's even though it is owned by the same company. They also own Pathmark, another store o the Island that I don't have here. Where did you come from that had an A&P and where are you now that doesn't?

To me, it is hard to quit from a habit: internet surfing, smoking, drinking. I'd rather enjoy it. When you find it boring, you will be attracted to another one.
