What if you were staying abroad, away from home, no qualifications gained from US or UK, and there is no job for you available for a moment and only as a cleaner, would you accept the job or not?
For me i think, i go for it. I do accept it just for the reason that i need a job, i need to live and earn money. Anyway, this will be temporary, it serves as your experience and stepping stone to your next career.
How about you? What do you think about being a cleaner? Is there anything to be embarras about it?
Happy posting.

hehe rainmark. When I started to work in the first place I started out as a cleaner at the hospital. Today I work as a professional assitance nurse at home for elderly. I did have diploma for secretery but at the time I was finished at school the little bug "computer" came in to the secretery world and stole a lot of the jobs that were around earlier. So during my sommer holidays when studying I worked as a cleaner. That way I found I liked to work with elderly people. That is one way on start to build up a desire for a better career. I can not see any wrong in being a cleaner, and the salary are today a lot better in my days for almost 30 years ago.I think you can be proud of getting a job in the first place.

I would accept it because i need a honest way to survive ,if i didnt accept it then i would be forced to do something illegal and that i would not willingly accept. The fact of the matter is I would use it as a stepping stone for something else .The important thing is not where you start but where you end up because you could start cleaning the floors and end up owning the building and i also believe that as long as you are doing the best you can then no one can blame you

I don't think there is any shame in any kind of job. I have to say that perhaps the only job I might object to is cleaning public toilets as in all honesty that grosses me out, but at the end of the day, it's like you said, we all have to earn money in order to live and therefore no one should be fussy when it comes to a job which will allow you to survive.

I dont think it makes you embarrass about this job at all, other hand you make money with it. over here in the us, Maid make a lot of money tho cuz they go by hour. I never think any job would bring me down, if you know how to deal with it.

Not at all, there's nothing embarrassing about cleaning as a job, I used to do it before I became disabled. You can make good money cleaning people's homes, too, I know several people who do it when they can't find a job, especially if you want tax free money. You can work your way up to supervisor, or manager, if you get sick of cleaning. Go for it!

I'd have no problems with it, if it was the only job available at the moment. Of course I wouldn't be contented just being that and thus work my way towards acquiring a higher paying job in the future.

Of course not my friend. What would I ashamed and embarrass of. As long as I earn from it legally I will go for it while waiting for another big break of my career. Yes, it would be a stepping stone for another big leap...

I will do it as long as there is paid. There is nothing to be embarras about. There are lots of dirty work that need to be done by any one of us. It's just a matter of our own mentality. Do we need to get someone to clean up a** after we pass motion? No right, we do it ourself

I don't think i could me a cleaned. My maid does all the work. The most I have ever cleaned in my life would be dishes. Plus, I refuse to clean anyones john. Don't get me wrong. If i hade to clean, then I would. It would have to be my last opion for a job.

being a cleaner is a hard work, and more decent than some jobs in fancy coats. there is nothing to be ashamed of.
sometimes i feel that being a maid/or a cleaner is more fulfilling than my current job. seeing the area that you've cleaned feels like an accomplishment.

When in foreign land, we become the minority and we have to earn a living so what ever job that promises a decent income for us is nothing to be ashamed of. Jobs are plenty and there is money to earn so why be choosy as long as we can survive and don't go hungry, we should never be embarrass.

Well after working in an office for 32 years I wouldn't mind being a cleaner, since I love to clean. I love things to be in place and clean at all times so it wouldn't bother me at all. A job is a job no matter what kind of job it makes you feel worthy and alive.

I have worked as a cleaner but one day yes one day because it was not a good job for me. I don't think that being a cleaner is bad or inveresing I will do it but not with the company I worked for. They expected me to do a job of 3 in 8 hours and if it took me more time they would not pay. Also they had no type of benefits at all nothing not even sick days and if we got hurt on the job it was up to us to pay for what we needed and they would not even give you a first aid kit. I have worked in constructoin areas painting and installing lights I have also worked as a cashier. I don't think there is a honest job that is inveresing to me as long as it is honest it is ok with me.

Hi, When you do not have a proper qualification for a job, I would not mind working as a cleaner. After all it is a job too which also needs skill and patience. So far as you are not cheating, robbing or deprieving anyone all jobs are okay.
