dust falls to the earth and gets into our homes from the moon's surface. Is this true? I think I might need psychotherapy. Where does dust come from anyway?

well from everywhere, from your front porch to the neighbors yard from the fields and desert from the ocean front. I find it endearing that your mom tried to tell you a story like the dust comes from the moon, and who knows, it is so much we do not understand about our planet yet, that it is easy to imagine that yes, it is truth, the dust comes from the moom

I actually believed her back then, and I didn't think of it again until recently. Maybe I just need some sleep, lol. Thanks for your thoughtful response.

Some dust yes blows inside the house. It can come from your pet hair. Did you also know though that dust particles has alot of your skin that has shed from your body each and every day.

I remember i asked this question to my father when i am a child , his reply to me is they are from everywhere around our universe, from the surfaces of Sun, Moon, other planets and stars and also our neighbors. They are flying all over and free for all!! I always believe in the saying of my wise old man.

There are various sources for dust. The construction sites, burning of coal, emission from vehicles might be the upfront sources of dust. Therefore, environment contamination has become a big issue for urban residents. I have to close my windows after morning opening, and I do daily house cleaning, and monthly thorough cleanin, to get rid of dust even under the bed, behind the cupboard, as I am allergic to dust, and cleaning can reduce chances to suffer from cough, cold, etc.

Hi, clutterbug! Dust is everywhere. It's highly unlikely that dust from the moon could actually make it to Earth, but everything that is here gives of particles, and that's dust!

The dust is not coming from the moon. Actually the moon is creepimg away from the Earth every year. Don't worry!! It's not much. As far as dust goes, there are too many sources of the stuff than you can count. Let's just say it all comes from PARTS UNKNOWN!!!!!! Oh, I do recall an eight legged man who was supposed to live on the moon. Of course, I never met him.
