Okay so I lost my job a few weeks ago. Of course I have been job searching ever since. I desperately need cash to be able to pay rent at the end of the month. However, I am very low on cash at the moment. I have interviewed for several positions but have not received any offers. However, I was browsing the internet for jobs when I came across one asking for "adult" texters. It pays at least .10 per text. This is nothing I ever dreamed I would do and I feel a bit dirty about the whole thing (no pun intended). Should I go ahead and do it? Would you if you were in this situation? Thanks for any advise ahead of time!

Hello my dear. Well alot of ppl have already responded to your query. I am a firm believer in the motto, "You do what you have to to get by." Sounds as if you are being proactive in your search for solutions to make money while you are out of work. However, sounds to me like you do have a moral dilemma with this...would $.10 per text be worth the guilt & shame you are going to have in the morning? We are all different but let me ask you this....Would you be a stripper or pose naked? If your answer is NO, I think "adult" texting is along those same lines. Keep your chin up and good luck....you'll find something soon! :) :) :)

I'm terribly sorry to hear that you lost your job. The economy is tough - but I'm sure the squeeze is over. We're starting to regain a little bit of ground, I'm sure.
If you have to question your ethics to be employed or "do" something - then, my advice is to not do it. I'm sure there are other avenues with which you can make money! Mylot will not make you much - but that's still $10 that you've never had before.
And people have made some good amount of money writing articles: associated content, bukisa, ehow, etc.
Good luck!! Hang in there.
I hope you find a job soon!!

Sorry to hear you lost your job! This economy is hard on everyone!
Before doing any kind of job, do your research and make sure the website is legit.
Personally, I wouldn't do it, but then again I don't pay rent because I still live with my parents. But if I'm desperate for cash, I might do it.
You could write articles and earn a few bucks per article. A lot of Mylotters write for Associated Content and Bukisa.

I am also out of work and it's getting closer and closer to rent-day. I completely understand and feel the pressure as well. Honestly, if I knew the pay was legit I would probably do it. I don't feel ashamed about sexuality or things like that. But if it's something that makes you feel uncomfortable, DON'T DO IT! If you're going to regret it, DON'T DO IT! It's up to you. Others on here have made many other helpful suggestions. I, too, am a member of Associated Content, just started there because of my current unemployment. Do what feels good to you. :) Good luck with the job hunt. Hopefully we both find one!

Thanks for all of the responses. I have decided to wait it out a bit longer. You guys were sooo supportive and helpful. I plan to continue job searching a bit longer, I think I have enough cash to last a bit longer. I will check out Bukisa too. :)

I would be careful about waiting too long for this texting job. They fill up quickly. I wish you the best of luck with whatever you decide.

Listen, if you are not doing any illegal activity and your in the privacy of your home, and you have discussed your intention with your partner. No one need to know what you are doing. But first you will have to take responsibilities for your action. If this is a job than treat it like one. Set some guidelines and boundaries, NEVER share your personal information with anyone. Do not use your real name and never give out your phone number or real e-mail address. Research the reputation of the site you are thinking of sign up to, and stay anonymous. And NEVER hook up with anybody you meet on your "job". This could be shaky ground that you are walking on. So keep safe and stay anonymous. Get a good firewall and delete all your temporary internet files, cache, history and cookies when you log off the site, try to get a IP hider of some kind and keep a copy of all you "work" session. Be safe.

I would like to let you in on something, if you are from Canada or the US. And you are serious about making money, there is other safer way to earn good money. And you can make a good revenue from this depending on your willingness to work, and this is not a scam and rest assure this can be very safe a rewarding. Become your own boss and work for yourself as many hours as you want to invest. Become a AVON Representative, this is a well known reputable and reliable company, the products sells themselves, you take your orders submit your order every 3 weeks and you could be getting anywhere from 10% to 50% profits. And these objective are easy to get, (in Canada) you don't pay shipping, you get discount on all your products, have a good profit margin, it is delivered to your door, and they have a wide range of product. You can start on your own with a minimal fee (Canada $25.00) for your beginners kit that includes some brochures to give to a potential client, friends or family members and the products sell themselves. I did this for more than 20 yrs for extra cash. I know people that made it their career. Look into it, you have nothing to loose. Find them online CA www.avon.ca and the US must be .com. Another easy trick, leave a brochure in a office building with a secretary and say you will come back in a couple of days, they just have to leave their orders on a piece of paper and you will deliver the order on a certain date. On brochure in one space can get you multiple orders. Try that in offices, school and so on... it goes quickly easy to deliver and cut down on your cost of delivery. If you sell $500.00 you will earn $250. commission it is that easy.

Sorry to hear that you just lost your job. I am not very clear how long or how many words the text you need to write in Adult texter. If it is short text only, I think it's not bad at all. You can quickly received urgent cash with them. How much the minimum for payout?
If this site offers .10 for long text or a paragraph, you may consider to use Bukisa. It pays similar, you don't need to worry about the adult thing. Wish you a good luck and get a new job soon.

I have done it and it is a good way to make a bit of extra money. You get accustomed to it after a while. Ten cents per text is very good. The company I worked for only paid cents per text and you had to have a minimum of 2000 per month in order to get paid. If you didn't make that 2000 you did not get any $. I would jump into it and do it if I were you. Also be aware that you need to continue to look for other work if you can. Texting is an easy way to make $ but with the economy the way it is right now even some sites are very slow and you might not get as many texts as you think you will. Good luck with it!
