Yuckiest, Disgusting Food You Know

Century Duck Egg - Century Duck Egg is a Chinese cusine made with duck eggs in a mixture of clay, ash, salt, lime and rice straw. It can be preserved for several weeks and up to several months. After the preserved process, the yolk becomes a dark green, creamy-like substance with a strong odor of sulphur and ammonia, while the white becomes a drak brown transparent jelly.

I know that every country and culture got their unique dishes or special ways of eating certain food. I hope that my discussion topic will not be any offence to anyone of you. I would like to know what is the most yuckiest or disgusting food that you have come across, be it heard from friends, saw in the TV or even eaten or saw it yourself??? For me, as a Asian Chinese, I considered my food variety as wide. I eat some of the foods shunned by many foreigners like preserved century duck egg which is black in colour, animals' internal organs, raw fish (sashimi), frogs, etc... However, I just couldn't accept eating male animals' private part and unborned ducklings still in egg. What about you guys???

I think you mean "balut" I think the food preferences that we like is varies in every culture that we had. I found it also disgusting to eat insects and some raw fish. The foods that we find delicious is not palatablt to some and our acquired taste to food is different to other countries. I don't judge them because we have different culture and preferences when it comes to foods.

Hello tuyakiki =)) Thanks for your response. Yes, indeed many people cannot bear to eat the intestines of animals. But for chinese cuisine, it is very common. We even have a dish which is fried pig's intestine porridge which is loved by many chinese. Hope this dosen't make your tummy turned. Have a great day ahead =))

Hello agv0419, I totally agreed to what you said. We cannot condemn what people from other countries or cultures eat. Food that we think is yucky or disgusting maybe a delicacy to other people. For me, I not only enjoy Chinese cuisine, but also Malay, Indian, Thailand, Japanese and Korean cuisine. Cheers =))

I think you are a cautious eater. It is safer to stick to foods that you are familar if you are not the adventurous person. Have a great day ahead =))

Yes, i cannot bear the thought of eating a almost formed duckling in the egg. To me, egg is nothing than egg yolk and egg white. Thanks for sharing. Cheers =))

hey, thhoon.Ü i think eggs and century eggs are just the same. So you're saying that you don't eat eggs too? For me, my most hated food would be the wasabi. i hate the smell of it and the taste makes my stomach upside down.LOL.Ü

I love to eat eggs, but I don't think I will appreciate the unborned duckling eggs that are eaten in your country. (Sorry no offence) I saw it in one of the documentory saying that it is a tonic to health. I think many people don't like wasabi cos it is very unpleasant to it. But I will still dip a very tiny little wasabi when I eat raw fish (sashimi). Thanks for sharing your experience =))
