Do you think it's okay to send your kid at HOME SCHOOLING?

I'm pretty sure that there are advantages and drawbacks as well from home schooling. But would you prefer to send your child from this procedure? My five year old daughter stays at OB Montessori and I'd prefer sending her to school rather than Home Schooling because of the fact that she can learn more by socializing with kids as well.
How about you myLotter, would you prefer HOME SCHOOLING for your kids or not?

My sister went to a regular school through elementary school and middle school, and was miserable all the time. We all thought she was just a depressed person. It never occured to us that it was just the school. After eighth grade, she finally told my parents how much she hated it, and they found a homeschooling program for her. She still got the socialization aspect, because there was a center that she could hang out at, and they had resources like books and computers, and connections in the community for internships, but there were no classes or schedules or requirements. She went there for four years, scored in the 90th percentile on her GED test, went to college and got straight A's. It was just the structure of school that she couldn't handle, not the learning part. So I think that while it may not be a good option for everyone, for the people who need it, it could be the best thing that ever happened to them.

I think you have made a very valid point. The reason I dropped out of high school was that I was miserable for years. I love learning, and later found to love college. But, middle and high school drove me nuts. I was a lot more mature than my peers, and the cliques and caddiness was more than I could deal with. I see the same thing in my 10 year old, and although she has made honor roll for two years straight now, she hates school. I am afraid that this is going to begin to effect her school work, and ultimately end up in another high school drop out. I agree that home schooling is probably not for everyone, but everyone is different and should be dealt with as an individual.

Both my Children went to School, but I have to be honest that now I would feel better for Home Schooling, they are not safe anywhere anymore not even at School, also the Bullying is getting worse at the Schools so I agree with Home Schooling I know the social Side will not be to good but then again, you could always take them to social events
I know it is not good as such but everywhere today it is to dangerous
