100% PINOY: Tabo o tissue?

If you are a Filipino (Pinoy), you would know exactly what I am talking about. Over the years, Filipinos use "tabo" when they go to the bathroom to clean "you-know-what" after doing number one and/or number two. Yet over the years, the use of the more convenient bathroom tissue was introduced to the Philippine culture. Now, you can find bathroom tissues in almost every public or company toilets here in the Philippines. My questions are as follows: 1. Which do you prefer using; tabo or tissue? and why? 2. Would you rather use bathroom tissue in your home rather than tabo?

There's no doubt that you are Filipino. in western countries they always prefer to use tissue. but to my understanding and experience, tissue doesn't take out all the sh*t in the butt unlike when you use water, tabo and soap. so, in regards to your question, i prefer to use tabo.

It does make a person feel a little more cleaner after using tabo with of course soap and water, unlike using tissue where you can never be sure you've got rid of "it" all. Now there's a new type of tissue going around the market for years now. The sanitary wet wipes! haha! they even come in scented, anti-bacterial, and "super soft" packs. Yet the question is: can it really match the sanitation the tabo (with water and soap) provides? I think not.

Hehehe I am 100% Filipino so I prefer "tabo" or dipper/scoop in English term. In every household in the Philippines you will see dippers and pails filled with water. Filipinos are used to washing their sensitive areas after peeing. But sometimes in some household there are tissues available and usually they are for guests. Tissues are not bad too. Especially in public places wherein there are no pails and dippers available. We don't usually take a poop in public places that's why there's no pail and dipper in public comfort rooms. Ciao!
