Have you studied any other religion? or convert yourself into anyother religion?

I am not expecting too many replies.... as only gutsy people would like to reply... I am an atheist, I do not believe in God nor religion but I know few people who converted into another religion for money, when i questioned them, they had no idea except for the fact that they would be in a better condition before monitorily and it perfectly made sense.... Survival of the fittest theory... to me.... However I would like to know if any of you out there has really converted becuz they found something really interesting or intriguing in the other religion.... and how much of did you know your own religion and their religion and any other religion before converting yourself.... I mean one would always like to know the best before choosing right!

Hi, coolsid! For many years, my husband and I thought we could never be together because I am a practicing Jew and he is a practicing Catholic. We've both studied a great deal about comparative religions, and we spent a lot of time talking it over with his priest, who was also his best friend while he was alive. We realized that, at least for a few traditions, it's all pretty much the same. Sharing our beliefs and celebrating our traditions adds a great deal to the richness of our lives, and we are the happiest couple of any we know.

Great!...thanks for your response... however your answer leads me to believe that irrespective of what religion or god you believe in, life still remains the same... In this case do you think you would be the same and your husband would be the same even if you actually did not belong to any religion at all ....

Absolutely! The fact that we have tremendous respect for each other and our beliefs of all kinds handles that quite well. We have a close friend who talks about his religion all the time - Wicca. OK. It's interesting, not intimidating.
