Ok, this has been sticking in my craw for quite some time and it has gotten as bad as the Palin threads. This isn't to any one user either, because there are a lot of them. Look, I understand the issue of his birth is of great constitutional importance. I think anyone who spends even a few minutes in the politics section knows that the constitution is pretty important to me. I also understand that if things turn bad and Obama is some how not found eligable, it could well have great consiquences for the country and possibly even melt down in to out right civil war. However..... Nothing signifigantly new has developed in this situation. all I see is a continuing stream of questions and cases. there has been NOTHING in the way of signigant developments or information. So, unless any thing new or earth shattering comes to the surface, can we please move on to more signifigant and pressing issues? Thank you.

The significant news was that finally one of these cases wasn't summarily dismissed and was moved forward for a hearing at which point, the army reservist in question had his orders for deployment revoked. Other than that, the evidence is the same, except no other judge has deemed to look at it. There do seem to be certain threads that continue to crop up. Michael Jackson was the flavor of the month for a while. In politics, it's Palin and Obama's birth certificate. In religion, there are a lot of people baiting other people. And although there are only so many ways to answer the question "why are you so stupid that you believe in God?" I still try to participate now and then.

I guess this is an issue in just about every topic areaa. I get pretty frustrated having to dig through pages of discussions to get to something signifigant to respond to. It's maddening.

Good luck with that one, x. Every little tidbit...every judge who indicates a willingness to look at something...every comment by someone who claims to have witnessed something...is significant in a major way to some folks here.

There are far more signifigant and pressing things to deal with right now nd there are plenty of things being done that CAN be proven, I think we should focus on those.

There have been significant events in this issue, and there's nothing wrong with people bringing them up for discussion here at MyLot. A new thing came up just yesterday. A soldier has refused to obey orders to deploy to Afghanistan until he is sure that Obama has the authority to issue such orders. Instead of court martialling him, the military has rescinded his deployment orders. Why they gave in so easy is anyone's guess, but if they chose to court martial him, then the question of authority would be a major part of his defense. Before he could be punished for disobeying a lawful order, the government would have to prove that the orders were lawful.

I agree, which is why I don't bring it up unless there's something new. I usually won't comment on them either.

I'll grant you that much, it was a signifigant point in the debate. It just seems how ever there are a number of other threads started that are only re hashing or redundant cases. It gets maddening trying to sift through endless pages repetative threads on it.

This is actually why some people just drifted away. The redundant crap that was posted regarding non-issues. Move on. There is rampant unemployment. There is a huge need for Immigration reform. There is a huge need for Health Care reform. There is a huge need for spending reform, yes even those of us who support Obama see rampant spending without appropriate controls as a problem. There is a huge need for Tax reform. There is a huge need for controlled reduction of forces overseas. The list goes on and on. Yet some folks seem fixated on this issue and this issue alone. Silly really.

Obama could be using this as a cover, a means tru which he can deviate americans' attention from vital issues until he figures a solution to american problems. Jose Mourinho has same personality with obama and he uses this tactics alot. This can be pure deception and americans are buying it. Obama is a smart guy, must have read 48 laws of power and is playing mind game with his haters. They will be bent on questioning his eligibility and attacking him, rather than his policies. I guess if his policies are being scrutinized as his eligibility, thats when he will really be worried.

megaplaza, this is indeed a rare moment, I am actually in agreement with you.....sort of.... Our government does use distractions, it keeps our "eye off the ball" while they do their dirty work. Though I do not believe anything Obama has planned is anything benificial or even remotely like what our founders intended....but THAT is exactly why they distract us, because like many of our recent previous administrations and congresses, they know how unconstitutional their actions are and distracting us is the only way they can get away with the garbage they pull.

Well I agree that it is ridiculous and there are other things that need to be fixed. And as sad as it is this could be over with very quickly but it won't be because both sides are gonna fight it. Obama is going to fight tooth and nail to not show the full form and his opponents are gonna keep fighting for him to show him. It does seem odd that he is fighting so hard to keep from doing this and I will admit the things found against him do seem to make this suspicious especially when it could all be ended very easily. The economy is shot and Obama has said things are getting worse and we are looking at a very good possibility of double digit unemployment rates within the year! But I still believe that this spending is not going to be healthy for the economy... I know they tried this same tactic during the Great Depression and it did not work! It was WWII that eventually pulled us out of the depression and made way for better times. But regardless it is an issue that is still going to be of interest because it could have a significant impact on our society especially if it comes out that he is not eligble to be president! I won't go so far as to say Civil War. But I would hope he would at least get more than a slap on the wrist this would be a major break against the very few rules of running for President! Oh for the days when the worst thing the president did was get in trouble for getting some in the Oval office!

It is an issue, but to post thread after thread after endless thread on it is both redundant and unproductive.

It may be however like I said he could end the debate and prove all his detractors wrong very easily. I tend to think it is kind of important because not only will he, a man running and achieving our highest office, will have essentially lied on his resume. Any other employer finding a major issue like this would investigate it and more than likely terminate the employee. He would have broken a law and it needs to be known... It SHOULD matter to the American people that there is the possibility that they were lied to! And he could solve it by not continuing to throw money at fighting it and just show the people what they are asking for. One of two things would happen he would 1.) be proven a natural born citizen and the subject would end for all but the most right wing. 2.) be proven to not be a natural born citizen and have to have some kind of action taken against him. I am well aware of the other problems the country is facing. Unemployment is at a 26 year high! Our econmoy is getting worse by the day and there is the war which doesn't seem like it is ever going to end! But this is a simple problem he can eliminate very easily and I think the reason it is being talked about so much is because if enough citizens start demanding this people are hoping he will eventually give in to their demands! In short it's not going to go away until the President makes it go away!

I too am tired of hearing about whether Obama is a Kenyan or an American. What difference does it make, really. Yes I do agree that the Constitution says a President must be born in the USA, but he was still elected. The idea that the President who won by a seven point spread should be removed because a valid birth certificate cannot be produced is not a road I want to go down. I would rather remove Obama from office through an election than a court case. Instead of waisting everyone's time with an argument based on a notice that Obama is not eligible, produce logic that can persuade voter that the polices of Obama produce a negative effect on America.

It should not be stopped. If we find out that Obama is not an American born citizen nor has ever lost his citizenship, then we have to know why was he allowed to run even though it was illegal. If he was president illegally we have to ask was he orchestrated into politics by those who wanted a far left socialist agenda? Were they some of the Out of AFrica types that believe that some races are better then others and never lie? WAs it a reaction to Bush and get someone the opposite? Was it those who believe fossil fuel was wrong? Was Obama a plant to destroy the lead America has by ruining its economy? I am sure that if he is illegal, and was born in Kenya, possibly the last theory sounds plausible. And if someone knew what he would do, raise taxes, etc. increase the debt America has, would they not also be just as guilty as he?

Thank YOU for posting this, X! I've thought about it bu I knew it would look like another "Obama worshiper" or whatever not facing the truth...lol! You're so right, and it's not only discussion after discussion about this topic but there are discussions with different titles that are otherwise just about identical! It's getting really, REALLY old. IF something ever actually develops we can address it then but until then let's PLEASE give it a rest already! Annie

Been out of pocket for a second and went back and found this one X. It shows the pragmatic and practical side of your arguements. If Obama is wrong you say it but if Obama is right and good I believe you will say that too. I do not believe you will disagree because of any bias but because you disagree with his policies which is cool. However i believe the true depth of what he is dealing with most people do not understand. He is trying to mend a broken economy and a dithering trade imbalance while a the same time buttress the USA image as the strongest country in the world. His task is monumental and I believe he is doing a great job.

Amen to that! It really seems that if he were not eligible that someone would have uncovered some proof of that long before now. Until that happens...the topic has really been pretty much talked out it seems.

X, good luck with that one, the far right has found something that they can focus on, and they won't let it go. However, much like the Bush files from four years ago, atleast they aren't talking about something more annoying.

I think the discussion should be kept alive; were this a Republican president we were talking about, everyone would be screaming and demanding that his/her birth certificate be revealed. No...I think Obama needs to prove once and for all--and the media needs to report it instead of covering for him--whether he's an American citizen or not. If he truly wants his administration to be the most transparent in American history, he can prove it by revealing his birth certificate.

I agree, the only thing that perked me up JUST A TAD on this one was the soldier thing however I wouldn't put it past this administration to be purposly leading the public a stray so they pay attention to this while behind the scenes at midnite they pass something in congress that they know the public wouldn't want. You gotta always keep a sharp eye on this community organizer, he's slick at getting thru what he wants!!!
