How often do you market for food?

Hello, for us it's neither one of them. We go to the market once a month for all of our frozen and cupboard foods. We will go to the market when ever we need milk and veggies though. The reason for us shopping once a month is because that is how I grew up. Plus in my opinion it's easier that way because if you go to the market once a month and it so happens to be the day that food is on sale then you are making out good if you do all your monthly shopping at once. I know your probably thinking how can you be sure that you get enough food for everyday of the month for everyone. Well this is how we do it if that is what you are wondering. We caculate on how many times we plan on having steak for the month and that would be the amount we would have to buy. So on and so on. Like for us we eat steaks once a month because they are pricey so there for I would need either 1 pack with 3 steaks for the 4 of us or one pack with one big round steak in it. When it comes to chicken we always buy more then enough because we are huge chicken people and plus you can make so many dishes out of chicken. We do eat veggies so we usually buy frozen because my hubby wont eat canned veggies. Well thank you for this discussion. Happy Mylotting

I shop for my meats,fish once a month and i keep them in the freezer. I buy veggies every other day. I have a kitchen garden where I pluck the veggies i will use for the day for the day. I have planted different types of veggies such as cabbage, spinach,kales, lettuce, pumpkin, carrots and green pepper. in4net6trix

I would not want to go every day to the grocery store but I don't want to buy my fruits and vegetables so far ahead that they are not fresh. I go a couple times per week and that usually is just right. If I had the time I would go more often so as not to have to freeze the meat but I am working and really don't have the time to go daily.

Neither of us have a job so the shopping is done by my fiance's mom. That being said, we would buy food every two weeks, regardless of whether it wasn't something my mom in law already does (yes she does). I've always just known that shopping is done around the time the paycheck rolls in and at the same time, it's also done when it needs to be. What you have bought to last two weeks, may only last one so being prepared is good!
