In the US military, all soldiers are required to sit through annual briefings. One of the topics covered in these briefings is our rights and responsibilities when it comes to obeying lawful orders.
We are taught that if we have any question about whether an order is lawful or not, it is not only our right, but our responsibility to get clarification.
That being true, Maj. Cook not only has the right to challenge Prs. Obama's eligibility to be president, but if he truly has a question about it, it is his responsibility to challenge it.
There was a hearing scheduled for July 16 to determine if Maj. Stefan is in violation of his orders. Instead of the hearing though, the military has chosen to simply revoke his deployment orders.
If Maj. Cook were to be court martialed for disobeying a lawful order, the government would have to prove that the order was lawful. By simply revoking the order, they don't have to prove anything.
This doesn't automatically mean the military couldn't prove Obama's eligibility, and there are all sorts of reasons they decided not to persue it. However, it is interesting that they would rather let him off the hook than even broach the question.

Maybe Obama is just stubborn enough not to want to show his legal birth certificate even if it proves he's the legitimate president. But it doesn't look good for him that they would revoke this officer's orders rather than have to produce it. Cover ups don't usually work for long and some day we will know. If he could end it now by producing proof of his birth, he should. That he doesn't do so is worrisome.

If he is eligible, but refuses to prove it, he's not being stubborn, he's being elitist and arrogant.

Don't you think that this being just dropped will lead to more men/women refusing to go to where they are sent just on the fact that one got away with it and nothing was done, so why should they go. No one seems to have the balls to stand up and say until you prove it to me. I will never understand if her has nothing to hide why this is such a secret about his birth.

This incident does seem to add fuel to the fire.
Very strange.

Oh give it a break! Do you all really think that this ultra savvy man has really something to hide about his place of birth after all the hoopla about his nationality and so on that was brought up during the run up to the elections by the opposition? I would think that if this subject is such a big deal, he would have had to produce proof of his birth registration and citizenship to the committees at the beginning and if there were any questions, they would have been asked and answered at the time. Sounds like sour grapes to me.

What committees? Pelosi and Reid insisted McCain prove his eligibility, yet they blocked all efforts to get Obama to prove his. Obama was never required to prove his eligibility. Now he is spending millions making sure his eligibility is never established one way or the other.

What hoopla was brought up about his place of birth during the election? It's just now making a small sound bite on any major news outlet. The man practically came out of nowhere and now he's president. I had barely heard of him and he was a senator from my home state!
And if he has nothing to hide why is he so secretive? The ignorance of the Obamabots never ceases to amaze me.
