I have some second hand books and some new clothes that I have never worn that I want to get rid of. Is it worth selling them on ebay? Do you make much by the time you have to pay postage?

I am a seller. You have fees on ebay to list it and to show a picture of it. You don't get rich off Ebay. Try selling them and ask for the postage at a reasonable price.

Your're welcome. You will have to give Pay Pal your c/card number or bank account. The do a direct deposit and withdrawal. Good luck.

ok first of all you charge the buyer for the shipping and it depends on the books you are selling. it would be better to sell them and get money than to have them sitting around your house. and the clothes will definetly be worth it because people always buy clothes on ebay.

that why you price it for what you want and then add the shipping charges and if yo get several people to bid on your items you could get more then you ask for but don't feel discouraged if it doesn't sell the first time around if at first you don't succeed try again..

I think it is worth it to sell on ebay. I have sold some things on ebay and have had a good experience. Go to the postal service website and check on how much postage will cost. The buyer always pays the shipping cost. You get a better response if you don't inflate the cost of shipping. it doesn't have to be exact. You can also have the buyer calculate shipping based on their zip code. Then you need to know how much things weigh. Also when you ship books or cd, tapes or pc games, you can ship media mail. It cost much less to ship that way. You can't have anything else in the package, not even a note. Invoices are ok though. There is also an option of printing your label and shipping label from your computer. Also you can have the mail person pick up your package from home, it saves a trip to the post office. Its a good idea to use paypal for ebay money ransactions. Good luck. If you go to ebay there is info to answer all your questions, they even have a live chat option. you can also ask questions from oher ebay members. Its all easy and fun.

I have not sold a lot on ebay, but when I do, I always state that postage is extra and based on where I am sending it or I have a set shipping and handling fee that will ensure that I am not paying more for postage than it is worth. On ebay, you also have the option of setting up a minimum bid amount as well, which is useful if you have something that you know is worth a certain amount and you won't part with it unless you get at least X amount of dollars for it.

so what second hand books are you selling?? I am interested in buying some as I collect books. If you really want to sell on ebay you should first check out how much postage will cost and put that as an acutal figure and then set your price. Ebay is a good place to sell second hand stuff. I've never sold any there
but i've bought a couple of second hand books.
