When there is a group of bikes (5-15 or more)out on the road, what do you do?
A. Avoid them and stay out of their way.
B. Try to cut them off or get in between them
C. Honk and wave and stay back out of the way
D. ????
My husband and I ride. Do you know that a lot of the time when there is a group of bikers, that we are usually riding for a charity of some sort? We have been the part of some wonderful rides. There is the one every year to raise funds for diabetes and another one to help raise money for the local Salvation Army (toy for tots). There is the one time when the first marines were coming back from Iraq and we went out and met them and brought them into town with about 100 bikes!
Let me know what you think of your local bikers. Both bad and good things, please. Maybe I can be the one to help change your mind! :-)

Hi PSmith, over here, if there's a group of jacketed motorcyclists with their helmets on (almost hiding their faces), there's bound to be trouble. Many times, these people have robbed others by surrounding them or their cars. So we are very wary of them, and try to get as far away from them as possible.

Where do you live? I want to make sure that I don't go into your area with just a motorcycle between me and them! That sounds horrible! Helmets are mandatory here, but the chances of having them do something like you decribe is very rare! We (the bikers that I ride with) only do good things!

Hi, don't worry about it. We are continents apart. Where I stay, these criminals ride on cheap bikes; many of them are aliens (illegal immigrants - thanks to my government lax policy on cheap foreign labor.) The bikers on Harleys & other higher-end motorbikes are serious bikers, and do not resort to crimes.

Well I sometimes would cringe and become frightful and try to avoid them. I just think that is very dangerous to ride in bikes especially in groups when you have the temptation to have a race or be persuaded to pedal faster. Accidents may be avoided though with proper precautionary measures.

I'm sorry that you feel this way. Hopefully you will see them a little different. But when you say pedal--are you talking about bicycles or motorcycles? Motorcycles
don't pedal at all and they usually don't race.

I would never cut of any motorcyclist one or several at a time. Actually I make sure I stay a distance behind them, don't crowd them at all. If I am in front of one I make sure I don't do any quick breaking.
We have one of those large groups that go by here every year, we make a point of going out and see them. They are doing the ride for either "Toys for Tots" one year it was for Teddy bears for the police and fire departments to give to children that were involved in accidents, fire's etc.
I feel what you all do is wonderful...Thank you
