The most basic thing to do is to drink plain water at least 2 litre per day and eat more fruits. Try to take your dinner early, don't skip meals, but eat just small portion. Do light exercise or jogging once in a week if time does not permit. That's what I've been doing and it worked. I didn't maintain the routine though, so, I gain weight a little. :D I find that eating yogurt can also help.

More exercise, lighter meals. Use less grease and oil. Grill or bake instead of fry. Eat yogurt, drink slim fast. That kind of stuff. Cut back on how much you eat if you feel you eat too much.

Determination is the key--the reason why our THOUGHTS greatly affect our body.. I have always believed in this and I have seen it in the Bible and have proven it in my own life. I gained weight just last summer and when I read a book about what the Bible says on losing weight, I noticed I'm gradually losing weight. From 140 pounds I lost 10 pounds within a month =D
The book says there are reasons why people overeat--either due to a dissatisfied soul, bad thoughts and idleness. When a person is angry, depressed or frustrated the tendency is to overeat. When a person is idle he also resorts to food. Our thoughts should ONLY be HAPPY while eating because aside that it's bad for our digestion, the Bible says that "whether we drink, eat or whatever we do, do it all for God's glory".
Oftentimes we also overeat because we think we're afraid we might not eat again the sumptuous food for a long time. In this case we should eat only for our SATISFACTION because we all eat to live and we don't live to eat. =D The Bible also says not to worry about things because He can provide everything we need. Besides, food is not meant to fill in the emptiness or the lacking in our lives, only GOD fills it in. So as simple as it is, we should only think HAPPY thoughts while eating and do it all for God's glory..
The Bible does not say not to eat meat, but the Bible says moderation is the key.. If we doubt that we eat too much of unhealthy foods, we should stop because again we should avoid negative thoughts while eating..
And of course other than eating, we should also take care of our body by doing exercises not solely for losing weight because it's called vanity. Our purpose for losing weight is everything for God--we take care of our bodies because we wanted to live healthier and serve others longer for God. =D
Hope this helps. Just sharing what I learned. Take care =D

I have lost almost 10 pounds lately because I have cut down what Inormally eat, I mean the portion and my stomach get a lot smaller and not as streched so I don't eat whole heck of a lot now, easy to feel full which leads me lose a lot of weight and the other thing is I have been feeling not so happy and stressed out which makes melose weight too...
But I would suggest you to do exercises it is definitely the only best way to lose weight healthily and effectively. I have done that when I was teenager, I got fat and I kept doing exercises and madce it a habit, I lose weights within a month and back to shape, just like that! And the good thing is while you are exerising regularly, you don't even need to eat on diet, doens't it sound awesome?
I wish you good luck! ;-)

Tips is what you ask, so tips is what I shall try and give you :-)
It is a rather tight goal you have set yourself. 35 pounds by the end of the year is just about do-able if you really push yourself hard and stay motivated week after week, without giving in to that splurge at any point in time. Ready?
For starters, one rule of thumb you must remember is that you will have to burn (lose) 3500 calories to lose 1 pound of body fat. If you can reduce/burn about 500 calories every day of the week, by the end of a week, you will have lost 3500 calories, which is 1 lb. And ideally, you can lose 1 pound every week. YOu can do this by counting the calories you consume, as well as the calories you burn in your exercise.
You say you want to lose 35 pounds by the end of this year. There are 23 weeks to go for the year to end. So if you follow your fitness/diet regimen meticulously, you will have lost at least 23 pounds by the year end, if not more.
When you first start off, you will notice that you will lose a lot of excess water too, especially if you watch what you eat. Read up a good diet book for tips. This water loss will also show you a dramatic change in the readings of your weighing scales.
Be sure to consume all the nutrients that your body requires. Especially if you are going to be working out (both cardio as well as weights), do consume more proteins, for muscle rebuilding. You will notice sometimes that although you have not lost much weight, you would have toned down and can fit into some of your old clothes. This is a good way to ascertain that your program is working.
Keep at it, and good luck! It is a commendable goal you have set for yourself :-)

Well first, you should be doing some kind of activity, walking, jogging, running, weight lifting, etc, etc. Next would be stay away from any kind of fast food as it is all empty calories. The easiest way I think to look at this is to just find a way to cut 500 calories a day. You can eat less or exercise more, or you can use a combination of both. Since 1-pound of fat equals 3500 calories you will be safely dropping 1 pound a week and the weight should stay off as long as you keep a healthy diet and workout regimen.

I would recommend checking out sparkpeople.com. It's totally free to join, and it will give you a personalized weight loss plan. It will give you a full meal plan, or you can make your own and it will tell you how many calories/carbs/fat, etc you should be eating each day and then it will add everything up for you. It also tells you how many calories you should be trying to burn each day through exercise and it will track calories burned when you enter in your exercises. There is a huge community of people there too, and they give really good advice, plus there are some experts that will give input also. :)

Ok here goes. These are some tips that worked out well for another person:
1. Use vegetable oil, rather than cooking grease.
2. Do not buy candy. If you need something sweet, buy fruit instead. Add a small amount of sugar on plums, peaches, etc. (a small amount of sugar, not a lot) It's just like having a dessert, except healthier.
3. Eat a lot of vegetables, without excess butter. Use the fat free butter, if you need extra butter.
4. Eat more bread.
5. Eat less, much less fried meat. Boil, broil, or grill all the meat that you eat.

Losing weight is an age old problem for many people especially the ladies. I can never find the right formula to lose those unwanted fats. I resign to the fact that I am fated to be on the big size. But I do take care of my health by taking regular walks in the evening. My mum used to take sugarless tea and asked to me to do likewise and she is always on the trim side.

First of all, it's nice for you to have your goal. Second you must be really determined and you must have the will to achieve it. Third, Try to discipline yourself by avoiding fatty foods and sweets. Fourth, have your own routine exercise. Fifth, eat small frequent meals and drink lots of water. I hope this one could help you. Have a nice day!Ü

I have lost a little weight already but I need to lose the rest and than onto the next weight loss goal. I think if I put my mind to it I can do it. I do not want to lose too fast than I will gain it all back again. I do not want that this time. I lost weight last year and then thru the winter I gained it all back. Thanks for being postive and happy mylotting to you.
