It was a good opening test and both sides will be feeling good about what they have achieved (although Australia will be feeling a bit more confident). Now its down to the second test. This will be Flintoffs last stand in whites at the home of cricet, Lords. So will England find inspiration to give the allrounder a grand farewell or will Australia spoil their party?
I really cant pick a winner, although I would say Australia are the odds on favourites.

Aissie batsmen were in good for in the first match, but they could not carry that momentum into the second test. credit muct be give to the English bowlers, epecially Flintoff, Anderson and Swann. They all bowled well, Flintoff was brutal, Anderson got some swing going and Swann spun it nicely. Unfortunately Australia lost the match, the first time at lords in 70 odd years.

Although in the first test, when England put up a challenging total on the board in the first innings, australia came from behind and got a very big lead to almost win the first match in the series which was very smartly denied by the england tailenders who saved the pride of their team by hanging on till thee last bowl was bowled. And considering this time around, england are for sure in the same situation and after the draw, I think Australia would be furious to win this test match. I think that since it is the last test match for Andrew Flintoff at Lord's, I would expect some heroics from him to hand over a lead to the England team and go 1-0 up in the ashes series!!

Yeh England are in a similar situation to their last test. They got some runs on the first day, but lost some wickets in the end. The middle order just collapsed. Flintoff had his chance with the bat yesterday, but he did not do anything special. Hes still got an innings with the bat and many overs with the ball, Iam sure he will be eager to finish on a high at Lords.

The Englsih must have gained some momentum and Inspiration from the Impressive Last wicket partnership between James Anderson and Monty and i think England have a very good chance to win this game. Although Lords is the traditional strong Hold of the Australians, but still I expect England to win this game and take a 1-0 lead this time. But cricket is a game of chances and you are not sure about the thing that is in store for you. Hence I expect a healthy rivalry between England and Australia in a couple of Hours from Now on:-)

Yeh looks like they got the momentum going. They were simply good in the first session. Already none for 126 at lunch. Australia just did not seem to have energy needed for an Ashes test. This session will really define the game. If England can press on Australia will be under pressure. But if Australia manage a three or foru wickets theyll be on top.

England were very good till tea, but it all fell apart in the last session. Australia did well in the last session to build up the pressure. Strauss played well and deserved the century. But he must be really dissapointed the way the middle order fell apart. All they had to do was stick around Strauss.
At the end of the days play the honours are even. But England might think they have a slight advantage since they still have some good lower order players to bat. Anyway now its upto Strauss, Broad, Swann and the rest to score some runs and get them above 400. They dont really have to do much, just take a single and give Strauss the strike.

This is the best chance for England to win the Ashes.Because they don't get to Australia who are out of form.We can't tell they are completely out of form but they certainly down trodden from their position.
There are odds on both sides.Even though you say Australia are the odds on favorites, they thing could happen.

Yeh Australia are not the force they use to be a couple of years ago. A lot of thing have changed in that team. The players are younger and some very inexperienced at unternational level. It was a good show from them last week. Although Australia are favourites anything can happen in as Ashes series. We saw in 2005 how the favourites Australia were crumbled by Andrew Flintoff and co. Yeh anything can happen in test cricket.
