I live in Latvia and we are in a pretty deep hole nowadays, there are lots of people looking 4 a job and a lot less people offering one, so now there is a problem, I don`t have a higher education, so it is even harder for me to get a job than others. i just finished school and I need some money for studies, I don`t want to borrow any money from a bank or from anyone I know or don`t know, I HAVE to get a job, but it seems like it is hopeless, so what should I do? And have you ever been in a position similar to mine?

Sounds like we are in a similar situation, though I will be starting college in the fall, at the end of August. I really need a job to afford the books and the tuition costs, I should be able to make it, but it would make it so much easier if I could just get a darn job, it is really hard to find one in the United States lately since the economy is not doing very well at all. I have to borrow some money in order to do it, but I am sure that once I am done with school I will be able to pay it off. Maybe you should invest in your education and at least borrow a little money, I am sure a job will come for you (and me!) eventually, at least in the next few months, hopefully sooner, if we keep trying. Good luck over there!

Good luck to you 2, well the thing is my future studies would cost about 2000$ a year (that is about the standard cost in Latvian high schools) and that is not little money for me anymore considering, that the average payment in a regular job is about 450$ a month... so yeah... :D

$2000 isn't too bad when it comes to an education, if you have a job, I don't think it would be too hard to borrow. My college costs (tuition) $30,000 a year (not including books and fees), I got about $26,000 in grants and scholarships, and I am borrowing $3,500 a year, and paying off the rest. What I can squander up past that money that does not go to my car expenses will go to paying off the loans. I can't wait until college is over and it has not even started, blah.

Latvia ! Wonderful. That's a beautiful country. Glad to meet you here on myLot. I used to say myLot is an excellent place to meet and make friends with people from countries around the world. I live in Vancouver , Canada. Reading your message, I can sense you are a well-educated person. You will certainly get a job that suits your educational background, I am sure. Yes, we often have to go through difficult paths. But, just keep trying, and you will get there !
Best wishes to you !

I need a job as well. but unfortuantely i don't have funds for application and commuting transport. i need to get a job too, but we should be patient and have faith. Yes, i have the same position as you are. but that doesn't give me reason to loan because it will lead me to more debt.
