Have you ever needed a visa?

I have had to have visas and work permits to visit some countries. I got a work permit for Finland and a tourist visa for Hungary. I got a working holiday visa for Australia. It was pricey for me to get a tourist visa for Jordan. I wanted to visit Russia when I was working in Finland but I couldn't afford the accommodation in St Petersburg. Years later I was in the Baltic Countries traveling around the region. I thought about and looked into the possibility of visiting Russia. However the visa charges were far too steep and the paperwork would have been very demanding. Have you ever needed a visa? Which ones? Were they easy to obtain? Have you ever not visited a country because the visa is too pricey or the paperwork demanding?

I need a visa to visit the US and its not really a hassle apart from the fact you have to travel to another island to get.Sometimes they make so difficult. We also need a visa to canada and england but only if we intend to stay six months or more.Other countries i am not to sure.

Getting a visa brings me bad memories. 1. Financial loss, stiff unrefundable application fees. 2. Medical exams which include: a. Need to fast to collect blood samples (fear of needle injection). b. Collect sputum, (smelly) stool, urine samples. c. X-ray, even CT scan. d. Hours of psychological tests. e. Disgrace of undressing for physical occular inspection. 3. Tedious paperwork (travel five hours to and fro for weeks, photo denied for being digital, had to find one printed from film). 4. Reserving for an oral interview (slot is 2 months away). 5. Restless waiting for results which takes months to years. 6. Endure demeaning interrogations from customs officers. 7. The disappointment of being denied one and disallowed from reapplying for a period of time. All these for being an unsuspecting terrorist.

Hey max, I could write a list here, but let me tell you the two that 'got-away.' By that, I mean Twow we wanted to apply for but for aon reason or another didn't. First was Poland in 1966. My friend and I wanted to visit Poland and Czechoslovakia, but had time for one only. We went to Czechlosvakia. We had plans to drive from England through the Middle East, and The Sub-continent, but when we inquired in London, had to change our plans due to India and Pakistan conflicts.

Hi Maximax, I visited England twice .Once in November to December 2005 and then in May 2006 . Both times ; I travelled for my company work ; sponsored by my company . I did need a visa .Yet there was no visa interview as is the case with American visas. SO,I do not have as much idea whether obtaining UK visa is difficult or not .

I have never aplyed for a vias before. I have only went to the Phillippines two times but never needed a visa. the reason is as a American, I can stay there for up to 21 days as a tourist but must aply for a visa if I want to stay longer. form what I did see for that country, it did not seem too much of a problem.

When I got married and was going to join my husband in Australia I had to secure a spouse visa It didnt take very long since we already got married but it is as you said a bit pricey. I would also need to get a visa if I want to travel to the US which is also could be expensive, but I do not need visa in most countries in Asia and in Europe.Yes securing a visa is very expensive and paperwork could be quite demanding.

I have travelled with work and entered Qatar but, it was literally for a day visit and we had to pay for the visa there but, it was done on arrival so quite quick and easy to do. I hope to go to Rusia one day though so I know I will need a visa then! x

Visa fees today were more pricey, every month it increasing. I need to apply for my extension visa here in UK and it gonna cost me £500 for me and my son. But travelling to Philippines and asian countries doesn't need a visa as long as you only stays 21 days, but more than 21 days you need to apply for a visa.

I dont have one but when traveling It is a MUST to have - It is always useful to have a limit to the visa so in case it is stolen you dont lose more than the limit I agree with you it costs a lot to get a visa no matter how much banks says, or tell you that it will not

I for myself would like to have a visa in the US, but because of the current crisis there I am afraid to get one. My brother is there in the US and I would like to pay him a visit. I also would like to go to Europe, but I heard for you to get a visa it could really be pricey. For now, I am applying for work in Norway, if ever I am given a visa, then the employer would pay for it. .

I have never personally had to get a visa myself, but my wife is german and we just got done going through the whole green card thing. Now that was pretty much one of the hardest things that I have ever went through in my Adult life. The amount of paper work you have to fill out is insane and the cost of a green card these days is out of this world. It cost us close to 2500 dollars and thats just for the green card and a helper to fill the paper work out. If you get a lawyer to help you through the whole process, it will cost you anywhere from another 2500 to 5000 dollars. So this is my expierience with a visa.
