Okay I really need to loose weight. I have absoulutely NO willpower to diet and excersize so there is no way I can test the waters and play hit and miss with diets and excersize so I want to know what others have found to work best? Thanks!

Jumprope or jumpingjacks are good because they raise your heart rate really fast. Thes two exersises burn calories faster than any other exercise. You should check out Body by Glamour on the glamour magazine website. I'm a member and it's great. They give you workouts and eating tips and there are forums where you can ask questions. The women on this site are very knowledgable and really supportive. Oh yeah, and it's free. Good Luck Hun! YOU CAN DO IT!

I thought I had responded here, but do not see it, must have been a response that had a glitch. I have been walking my sister's dogs--lost 15-20 lbs over the summer no other changes. They are big, makes walking safe, and it makes it a resistance exercise. Green tea does seem to speed things up when I drink it, and I understand that honey metabolizes more slowly or differently than sugar and will not give you insulin spikes that make you eat more. Only drink one glass of juice daily because of sugars, and some experts say avoid artificially sweetened beverages because they fool you into wanting more sweets. Beans are a good source of cheap protein, plus have the fiber to help you feel full, just as long as you do not add too much fat when you season or serve them. It is true that poor people tend to have more problems with obesity, due to eating lots of pasta, white rice, etc. More problems with diabetes, too. Switching to whole grains as much as possible really does help you feel full on less. Try farmers markets for produce. There is a program throughout the US that lets you buy shares in a buying co op, if you do any kind of volunteer work in your community. You can search online. Where I live it is Heartland Share, where my dad lives it is AngelFood. You get quite a lot with a share which costs 20 dollars or so, and a lot of it is produce. That is a good way for cost conscious people to stretch their food dollars, and get healthy food.

I was told that swimming will give you the best body shape but I think running is the fastest way to shed flab although your legs will become muscular

Start by walking, if you have a dog, that is even better. I lost 20 lbs this summer by just walking my sister's dogs. I won"t walk as daithfully for myself, but I felt guilty because they live in a small pen so I walked them often. I am no runner, but once in awhile I will do a sprint--I hear that that is super effective. Walk mostly then do 30 seconds or so as fast as you can, then walk again.
It is hard to eat well if you are poor, but it can be done. Beans are a great diet food, and cheap. Brown rice will fill you up better than white, and around here the price is the same. Summertime--farmer's market. Often organic, just not certified. Garden yourself--it is mild exercise that also builds bone density, and it has produce as a pay off.
Watch the sales at your grocery chains--we have been having big bags of frozen veggies at 10 for $10. I also always hit the clearance and reduced sections--great prices, usually 40% off. Freeze close dated, reduced price meats, they will keep just fine--usually 3 months or more. For lighter in calorie foods, use meat more as a garnish, watch butter and whole milk fat intake. Use seasonings, reduce salt. Do not get mad at yourself if you think you have failed. Each day is a new one.

Hey thanks these are some really great idea! I don't have a dog. Other wise like you walking would be easy. I would feel guilty to walk them! Never thought of doing it as a sprint. That sounds like it might be something I could do and still effective.
As for eating...we do eat alot of beans around here. Mostly pinto. I'm American but my hubbys Mexican and likes his beans and tortillas! I can't garden myself because I live in an apartment with no place to have a garden. And my patio is not big enough to have a small planter gardern.
Thanks for the wonderful suggestions!

Honestly a couple years ago I lost weight and inches by eating.. yes,
I ate meals three times a day and cut out the soft drinks.*BIGGIE* I am not a snacker so I had no problem with junk food. I did not spend alot of extra money, just full rounded meals. I think the sodas have alot to do with weight. And I did not eat after 7pm or so. I do agree with others... exercise ..even walking, streaching,If you live near a park that is a great place to start cuz the layout will not be boring and it may have steps and hills to challenge yourself. And set small goals to begin.. Good Luck!

i cut the sodas out already. We have alot of parks but they are all small here...and flat...I would have to circle them over and over.

Actually It is recommended that you walk to lose weight..It is the best form of exercise to use to lose. and later a toning exercise once you start to lose so you can tone and tighten your skin..well,good luck and if you walk it's good to get a pedometer to see how much and far you have walked.

I love the finger exercise that you do when you change the channel with your remote. It keeps your fingers toned!
