am just wondering how come baby products range from shampoos, top to toe wash, lotion, powder... i mean if they would just formulate a gentle non-moisturizing wash then there would be no need for lotions, right? why is there a cologne when there is a scented powder already? why are there baby soaps and shampoos when there is a top to toe wash? am not talking of all baby product brands. this is only one brand i have in mind...

i may not have a child of my own my friend. but even i used those hypo allergienic sopas, body wash and even shampoos. i guess its muchmore gentle to the skin and a whole lot more moisturizing than the usual soaps that i have. well i guess they make a whole lot of variety as to increase their earnings and to have amuch more thngs to choose from. its up to us on how or what do we want to use. jhelai

What is important to give to babies is sot and gentle touch care love. Baby don't need anything like those bay lotion shampoo, and other stuff, but just a tender care and touch. I am now grown up from my childhood and my mother do not used baby products when i was a baby and yet i am okay.

I think it is a bit of an over kill. I guess people buy it though or it wouldnt be out there anymore. When my kids were young enough to need baby items I just bought baby wash and used it to wash every thing. It worked just fine for us. I also used diaper rash cream and baby lotion. I loved the smells of the baby lotions so I had a few different choices of them but that is different.

Hello there my daughter was 1 year and 8 months now. I give her almost everything like for example in bathing i dont use top to toe wash because her dcotor said that her skin was dry so her doctor gave her soap to remove the dryness of her skin. But i used Johnson baby shampoo just for her hair, i also give her lotion to remove totally the dryness of her skin. Well i guess there is no problem with that just besure you are not giving anything bad for your kids. Keep on mylotting.

It has been proven that you should not use powder on babies, they say that it can lead to asthma. some of the other products, well no they are not needed for every child, some children, babies have very sensitive skin and need lotions and products that are more gentle on the skin, while others it does not matter. Some parents prefer to have different shampoo than body wash. It is a matter of preference.

Ritchelle, I have just blog about this recently over the number of stuff my baby is using. She has her liquid wash, shampoo, anti mozzie lotion, daily cream, baby oil, nappy cream and so forth. For different parts of the body, I will use the different cream as some parts maybe more gentle. It's the marketing strategies to have companies producing different variety of products as then they could capture the biggest share in the market though...
