When getting married should you decorate the church or save the money?

When creating the wedding, you have to start by picking the reception hall and the church but also there are some necessary and unnecessary decors like for instance the wedding hall. Should you decorate the place extravagantly even though you'll only be in the church for an hour or less when the rest of the night you're in the reception hall partying all night long?

i think marriage is conducted in the church and its the place where the bride and the groom will become one as husband and wife 2 souls one body .. its aplace where a new journey of life will begin so it should be best decorated ... where as the reception party you are inviting all your family and friends to rejoice over your marriage .. so it can be less decorated .. i do understand that there will be more people attending the reception then the marriage but then marriage place is more important then the party area as people do forget the very next day how the place was decorated .. but the moment you get married in the church will always be with you in the heart all your life....

yes!! I totally agree with you. Even in our place the church is decorated more lavishly than other areas and most people commented on the church decorations than elsewhere. The marriage place is sacred and if it is more lighted it than the more better.

Believe me the reception decoration is forgotten once the guest attend another wedding .. for the guest its just the time to rejoice and enjoy but for the couple its the beginning of new life..so decide wisely...

Its purely a matter of personal choice. I dont think anyone should have to spend out good money out of duty or obligation. We didnt have the Church or the reception hall decorated - just a few posy vases on the tables. Its how the couple feel about each other that counts, not what sort of a wedding display they can provide. The Church is an hour or less, the reception hall may be 5 or 6 hours but the marriage (in theory) is for life.

I think you got to decorate it quite well, afterall its your one and only marriage. But too much spending to "show off" really doesn't help either. The money can be saved for your future life which with god's blessing will be prosperous.
