The ghost of you

Last night, I had a dream, so real almost true
Of the way it could have been between me and you
Of a life so happy, never a minute gray
Then I woke up, to face another day
Walking along, with visions in my head
Thinking about you, the things you said
Then, upon the horizon, I saw your face
Arms outstretched, longing to embrace
I nearly fell for the mirage I had seen
Smiling and dancing in a shining sunbeam
It made me realise that the thing I should do
Is to get rid of the memory, the ghost of you.

This is beautiful. I like poems like this that describe a longing and that have mystery. Thanks for posting it, I enjoyed reading it.
