This photo shows my snap peas ready to pick. I am picking a bunmch of my homegrown veggies this weekend to make a pot of veggie soup. What do you add to your veggie soup? I am adding peas, carrots, onions, zuchinni, green beans and yellow beans that I can think of at this time. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

I've already picked a bunch of my peas! Aren't they just the best veggie ever?! With frozen peas, I usually need salt but my own peas are sweet and tasty with nothing needed for flavoring! I hope yours are as good as mine!

Those peas look delicious GrandpaBob, and that is great the way you got them growing up the fence like that what a good idea. I went to my cousin's house yesterday to see if he had any ripe tomatoes in his garden, I did get a few and helped the misses pick a few of her peppers that was ready for harvesting. Home grown is the way to go.

Vegetable soup sounds real good to me. My husband is not a big vegetable soup type of person so I would have to put some type of meat in it but not make it like stew. He just likes certain veggies and sometimes I can sneak a few in there that he says he don't like with out him knowing.

Hi Granpa Bob, I make my vegetable soups with anything I can lay my hands on. I always have pesto to add. In my country it´s easy to cultivate a very good kind of basil. Those peas now, I would eat them raw and still warm from the sun. From the plant to my mouth. They are SO sweet!!! Congratulations!

Well my mom didn't make too much veggie soup. She made a lot of what I would call 'leftover soup'. At the end of the week, she would take most all her leftovers and combine them with some canned tomatoes and make a pot of soup. She would use what she had, and would also add fresh veggies too, such as potatoes and such.

That sounds good but I do not actually eat a whole lot of cooked vegetables. I like them mainly raw when I eat them. I only add corn and green beans to my vegetable soup. I also use ground beef in mine too.

Your soup sounds excellently delicious, GB - very nourishing and tasty. I'm betting your grandchildren eat those peas fresh from the vine!
