Its hard at the start as its hard for your fingers to get habitual to the chords and feel the strumming. after you get all the chords right and then start playing some simple songs with chords. And progress on like that to hard ones.
Its hard but not impossible. If you are really fund of guitar you will learn it faster.

i can say that if you have patience and you really love to learn then there is no doubt that it would be easy for you. one more thing is you need to have dedication and you need to have time. i start playing the guitar when i was 15 years old. my dad is a musician and there are different guitars at home, keyboards and drums. now i am playing bass guitar in a band, its much easier to play bass but it still cool to play guitar.

we all have different phase on how to learn something, there are people who learns fast and there are people who has longer patience to learn. if you spend atleast 2 hours or more a day, i mean if you give time to practice everyday then in a month or two you can learn to play simple music. try knocking on heavens door by the bob dylan that was the first song i played for it is easy. goodluck

I think it would take awhile to become an accomplished guitar player, but when I was working there was a girl who claimed she could teached anyone to play the guitar in 5 lessons so that sounds easy but I think there is a difference between just playing a guitar and playing it well...
