Today there is a bombing again in Ritz Carlton and JW Marriott Jakarta. I deeply upset by this, considering we have recovered from the last bombing incident in 2002-2004 where Marriott also happened to be bombed at the time and Bali hit by bombing which killed 200 people and really hit our tourism sector. You see, Jakarta is a very modern city with many skycrappers. Although there is bombing, people will still go to the mall or office, but maybe with increase scrutiny. But the foreigners cannot see that, and that really hurts our investment sector. Especially this year we still have a remarkable economic persistence on the global crisis with economic growth of 4%. I wonder how to make these terrorist acts vanished? As seen on Bush case, making a war against Iraq only making it worse and many new terrorist group grow until today...Any opinion myLotters?

Two American owned hotel got hit again after four years of honeymoon, it is not much of a surprise to me since they are operating in Indonesia. Knowing its past, the population and the government make up very much telling me it is not a uncommon event in this country .

I don't know if it's fair to say that waging war against terror makes it "worse."
For years and years and years, people around the world have pretended that terrorism didn't exist. They treated terror like the boogeyman: afraid to even speak of it for fear that it might happen to them.
This is no way to live! It's how evil comes into power. When people are afraid to fight evil, it grows and grows.
Saying that fighting terror creates more terror is a coward's rationale. Ignoring the problem doesn't make it go away. Catering to the terrorists only results in losing all identity and freedom.
These terrorists are not created by bullies -- they are the bullies! They use actions like America's war to justify their mass killings. But even without a war, they would kill more because they would be free grow without interuption! If a country, America, for example, didn't defend against terrorism, the entire country would be annihilated.
Not fighting against terrorism doesn't make it go away.
The only way I can see the world ever being rid of terror is if EVERY SINGLE NATION on the face of the planet stands up and screams, "NO MORE!" No more will they be bullied by terrorists. No more will they ignore the world's evil. No more will they lay blame on other nations that fight terror while they themselves refuse to confront the problem.
Fight terrorism with a unified front. Stop treating terrorists as common criminals; people who can be bought, sold and tricked. That's not a terrorist! A terrorist is an evil person with a twisted worldview. He or she is guided by their blinding ideology and hatred for the views of others. The only way to stop terrorism is to stop terrorists.
