I understand your situation. In high school, I was the person that did nothing, didn't study much, whatever, and still got good grades and it used to make a lot of people mad. I ended up being Valedictorian unintentionally and didn't even really care to get it. The Salutatorian was someone that had worked very hard throughout the entire year and devoted her whole life to studying and really wanted the Valedictorian spot.
But when I started college I found that I had to study really hard to get decent grades. There were some people that went out and partied all night while I studied and they did better than I did. It was frustrating sometimes, but I didn't let it bother me at all.
The important thing to keep in mind is that if you have good working habits, that's going to benefit you. Try your hardest, always keep working at it, and you'll do good. Sure, someone smart might look better on paper, but if they tend to be lazy and don't work well, then they're not going to get a job. Work isn't always about being smart, but knowing things AND being able to work in a certain environment, for the most part. :)

Well, my friend. This is what is called testing time. Life shows you some awkward things and your response decides what you will gain in your life. Never feel or think that talent can outweigh hard work. Haven`t you heard Practice makes a ma perfect. So, don`t bother about what you are getting now, if you work hard, much more success is reserved for you on some other time.
But, i should clarify one thing, hard work is not just studying every time. It includes a managed routine (that includes helping others in their work also), strategic study, exposure to good quality resource material, and your determination with strength to do something good. It also includes respecting others` views and opinions and judging them with reason.
