Do you switch television during commerical gaps?

If I am watching television, I usually try watching also the advertisements shown during commercial gaps because it can help me monitor the products that are available in the market. But If I notice that the commercial gap is longer than the usual television show that I am watching, I usually switch to other channels to watch other shows and just go back to the previous show once I know the commercial gap is over. What about you guys? Do you channel surf during commercial breaks when you are watching your favorite television shows?

I don't really watch tv, but I use Hulu.com. They force the commercials on me though, so I kinda have to watch them. Mini intermissions in my eyes, hit up the restroom or grab a snack.

I sometimes just switch around to see what else is on. Also if there is another show on that I absolutely can't miss then I will switch back and forth. Then sometimes I use commercials as opportunities to go to the bathroom, or get a snack, or change laundry up.

I agree with you that sometimes, our favorites shows are shown simultaneously on different channels so we tend to switch channels once in a while.

I normally keep the channel on the same channel without switching it.My b/f on the other hand switches the cnannel. We don't fight for the tv but I can tune out the commercials when they come on.If he does switch the channel I try to figure how long it will be before the program will be back on. If I am watching I don't want to miss anything on I will say to keep it on during the commercials.

Hi there, Yes, I do switch TV during CM gaps. Cause there are usually 2 CM gaps during an 40-minutes, a 5-minutes CM then repeat, you'll know what the next product is even the CM is not over. I usually switch for other channal in case more interesting things is going on there.

I always do, that's why my sister doesn't want to watch television with me.. She always said that I never got contented on one channel. She can't blame me, coz' commercials now are longer than the show and sometimes the shows I want to watch are showed simultaneously.

I read during the commercials. Once upon a time I used to read during the shows also and was able to follow both but I lost the nack of doing that when I quit for several years when I got reading glasses that were not comfortable and just didn't wear them.

I do, especially if another show is on that I watch. Even though I'm recording it, I'll flip over to see if anything is going on at the time and then later I can just fast forward through that bit. However, a lot of times both shows will have commercials on at the same time. LOL I also do it a lot when there's a game on. I'll flip over to check the score during commercials.

No I usually never turn the channel when there is a commercial on. My mom used to do that when I was little and it annoyed me very much. I like seeing the commercials because maybe there is new ones or ones that I just like. I also don't turn the channel when there is a commercial on because I don't know when the show might come back on. I may miss some of the show.
