Why doctor say like this?

Why must some medicines be taken on a full stomach and some on an empty one?

What the last person said is correct, and another part of the reason I think, is that some medicines can make you nauseous, so having something in your stomach will help curb that.

Some medications don't travel correctly through your body if you eat food, and some NEED the food to travel on. That's how I understand it.
