I don't particularly like riding horses but I had a friend who insisted on being a horseman and I went and bought some horses for him. He got together with some other horse-lovers and had a rodeo. Barrel racing is fun.

I am not a rider myself other then a little trail riding here and there but I do love to go to the rodeo to see the riders and shows. The animals are always so beautiful.

I know that on the South American continent it is a very big past time. Same with Mexico. Many of their riders circuit up to the states to ride. Australia I believe also has their own circuit as well. It is much more then just the bull riding they show on TV. There is barrel racing where they ride the horses in a timed race down the track making difficult turns around barrels, as well as bronco busting (like bull riding on a horse), trick riding, roping as well as other family events.n If you get the chance you should try to see one.

I used to watch them on TV, and I enjoyed it. It's exciting, and even my hubby walked in and started watching the rodeo with me. I don't watch them anymore, because we are cutting back, and we don't have satellite or cable TV anymore. But maybe one day we will again, after we see how the recession goes.
