I can understand why senior members are not participating too much in discussion

I am just 4 months old here and now started getting bored with lots of duplicate discussions going on. New members don't take pain to search the existing discussions and just start their own, Most of the times I find the discussions repeated and personally don't think like responding same things again and again. So my number of responses now a days are decreasing.
I think, even senior members who are here since more than one year are also not participating because there is very less discussions which are good and they can add value addition.
I would like to request all the new members, don't take it on personally, but search the discussions before starting your own, to help in restricting duplicate discussions. Also read the rules first, and don't post any promotion links in the discussions, because it will loss to you and to the other members who will respond to your discussions.
Senior members give your thoughts and add if I am missing something.

the only thing you are missing is the fact that many people will continue to have same discussions over and over because theres so many people on here already. its just really really hard to find anything new here, unless its something just happened. then its just like you are talking in a group. if you look at it that way instead of having to come up with something new you will not get bored. its kind of like IM or twitter but its like a group also. not much can be totally new. it has to be like friends talking. maybe its easier for me because i've always been a big talker. that helps i think

Yes, thats what I feel that new members should search for the topics first before starting discussions. And duplicate discussions will have similar responses all the time, just sentences will be changed here and there, but nothing new is there. Thanks for sharing your view.

I understand you babshis as well as the senior members of mylot, I myself observed this in mylot discussion. But we cannot blame the new members, I think it's alright to post repeated discussion as long as mylot allowed the discussion. As a member here I made a response to a certain discussion then after a month and so on...I will make a response again to the same topic or repeated discussion but my response is different from the other one I made because of the time development and something came up and I have new ideas want to share again. Even it's repeated discussion my answer won't be the same. Repeated discussion I guess is not a problem to me. As long as it's interesting I would participate in a discussion. Happy mylotting!

My aim is not to blame anyone, but request for every new members that search the discussions first and then start, you might get what you are looking for. You are right that its our choice to respond or not, and if we have something else it will be nice to add in that discussions, but most of the times you have the repeated answers only the way of saying will change, the most common topic by new comers " how to earn here" or something similar, there are lots of such discussions now tell me what you will respond everytime. May be its my views, anyways thanks for sharing your views, and happy myloting.

the reason must be because they already have referrals who are working for them, and generating money for them. i am less than two months here, and even i am also tired of repeated discussions. but hey, its not easy to search whether the discussion was alrrady been started.. we have to understand. that's why i don't start any discussion more often. and if you're tired of giving the same response, then just leave the discussion there.

I feel, for senior members earning is not primary, even though they have referrals, but sharing the views is more important, and this is what I got feedback from many senior members from one of my discussion. I feel if we have good discussions and non duplicate one, then we will also feel intrested in responding, else it does not make sense that you reply similarly to same discussions most of the time, or just ignore them, is the only choice. Lets see how it changes .

I also new here, and it might be possible that some of my stated discussions are duplicate ones.., as earlier i didn't knew thee is some search button...
But as such i don't start much discussions, and do more respond to other discussions.
Though there's some duplication, but i don't feel much..., may be i spend a bit little time in mylot, or may be i always find something new and intresting to respond to....

I agree with you babshish - the discussion here is quickly becoming stagnant - something I feared before joining myLot. However this was slightly expected due to the nature of the system - I believe it pays you more when you start Discussions, so in the interest of a quick buck, people duplicate discussions in the hopes of making this month's cashout! :P
However I hope that soon there will be a sudden upsurge in fresh ideas to help stimulate more creative discussion in myLot. Thanks for sharing and happy myLotting!

I've been on Mylot for several years, and yes, it can get very boring. But you have to realize that most people don't really have much to say, so they post the same kinds of discussions that just about everybody else posts. About a week at a time is all I can stand to spend here for more than half an hour or so. I take off for anywhere to a few days to several months at a time. I've sworn that I'll never come back here, and then I do.
For me, the best way to get thrugh Mylot without spending too much time is to check the posts from "my interests" and the "new" posts. If I'm in the mood to be amused and see what people are thinking about these days, I run quickly through a few pages of the "top" posts. Getting away for a while usually means that I'll find some new and interesting stuff when I come back.

Hey, seems my discussion had cought your eyes, thanks for sharing your views, I guess slowly slowly I will also become like this only, will take off from mylot for some time or days and come back to check if any good discussions are there or not. But as I am almost new here, so will still go through all the discussions I can find and respond them if I can do some value addition to them. Lets hope for the best.

you are right ashish....i had problems with my computers last few days, did u miss my responses ..jus kidding...i am also one of the senior members here...and yes..like you i too feel quality missing from here, not ot offend anyone, but repetition is too much, actually i have reduced my postings just because of teh same reason, when you are very busy in the earning activities online, you dont get time to think over a topic which is new and creativity is lost in the busy life, so i find it easier to respond to discussions and as i mostly come here only on weekends there are lot of them and so no thoughts come to mind.....i wish some of you will continue the responsibility of posting quality material here...and we are here to respond

Of course Eshaan, I have missed you, I agree with you that quality is really going down slowly slowly, it is not completely missing but yes ofcourse its not the way it should have been. Yes ofcourse we are busy but whenever we come here if we get some quality discussions than that would be really good thing. Lets hope that it will become soon a place where we will have more quality discussions rather than duplicagte ones.

I understand your frustration. Its the same case with me too. its true many discussions here are duplicates, with a little addition or deletions here and there. nobody searches if there is a discussion on the same topic has already been put up here. that shows most of the posters are not aware of the rules or did not read what is important, the rules of posting.
I personally have no problem with it, if i find it interesting then i reply. else ignore it.

Yes this is same with most of the members who are bit old here, even I am not having any problems personally, but because of this many members are losing their intrests in responding and not intrested in sharing the views, If we at least able to minimize this dupliation then we will have more and more quality discussions. Lets hope for the best.

I first want to say Hi to all the senior members. I am a new member. I have did research before I posted any discussion. I mostly respond to discussions. Im still learning the ropes on this site. I enjoy sharing my experiences and asking questions. I have noticed that there is alot of silly stuff going on as well. I hope that I do right by you all. Thanks for the input..

Hi Rosepedal, very happy to read your views, thats very good thing that you are searching before posting discusssions. If every new member will think the same way, it will not take much time to get rid of duplicate discussions. This will help all of us to have quality discussions here. Its not for me or few members but it is for all, you,me and all the members of the community.
