Which romance movie would you recommend to me?

Okay so I am in the mood to watch something romantic. Though I will probably have to wait until tomorrow night to watch it. I was wondering if I gave some of my favorite standbys as far as romantic movies go that you avid romantic movie watchers may recommend one that isn't on this list? Sometimes I see movies that may be something I like but I am hesitant to rent it if I don't know anyone who has watched it or recommends it. So here goes. Some of my favorites are:
Chocolat (not overly romantic I know but who can resist Johnny Depp?)
When Harry Met Sally (love this movie even though it is more comedic than romantic)
The Wedding Singer (not a big sandler fan but love this movie-very cute)
Dirty Dancing (Patrick Swayze-drool)
Notting Hill (another cute movie)
I prefer movies from the 80's and 90's. Occasionally watch an older movie though not often. Do not like most modern day movies. Any suggestions?

I've just finished watching "Under the Tuscan Sun" starring Diane Lane and as you mentioned "Chocolat" amongst your favourites you may like this. It's basically about a woman called Francis who after getting divorced goes on holiday in Tuscany and ends up buying a run down villa and moving there.
It's a very warm movie which leaves you smiling but like Chocolat is not overly romantic. The best way to describe it would be if you took all the best bits from movies such as "Roman Holiday", "A Good Year" and "Only You" to name just a few and stuck them in one movie you would get Under the Tuscan Sun.

I've always liked "Great Expectations". It is based on a Charles Dickens book with the same name. About a boy who is in love with a rich, cold-hearted girl, they grow up and the boy does all he can to have her.
It's a drama from the 90s, maybe you could like it.

The movies you suggest are all good ones. Two of my favorites are "Hannah and Her Sisters" by Woody Allen. This one makes me laugh so much, and there is a great surprise ending. The other movie always makes me cry and that is "Out of Africa" with a romance between Meryl Streep and Robert Redford with the beautiful African setting, and it has fantastic music, too.
I also like the romance in "Almost Famous," although the storyline is about a kid who becomes a music reporter, following a band. Another interesting movie about complicated romance is "Closer" with Julia Roberts, Clive Owen, Jude Law, and Keira Knightly.
Finally, if you like period movies, I loved "Pride and Prejudice" with Keira Knightly which came out a couple of years ago. The romance between the two main characters is set against the beautiful English countryside. Really yummy.

Thank you for your suggestions. I am not a big fan of the period movies I think simply because they are too sophisticated for my tastes. Please don't take it as an insult as I am more into movies that are cheesy and don't have a lot of complicated story lines. I know, I like fluff, lol. And I'm not ashamed to say it. :)
I have seen Almost Famous and I thought it was a pretty good movie as well. I've seen Closer but again a bit too complicated for my tastes. You are probably thinking that I am just hopeless by now, lol.
I haven't seen any Woody Allen films though I've heard both great things and horrible things about them. I think I may just have to watch one to decide for myself. So thank you for that suggestion.
I can remember as a teen my parents wanted to go and see Out of Africa because my mom has a thing for Robert Redford but the theater was closed. I don't think I've ever seen it so I might have to add that to my queue.
Thank you for your response!

I have watched Titanic in the theaters, my husband and I wanted to see what the hype was all about. It wasn't really my cup of tea and it seems that I am not very much into Kate Winslet movies.
A Walk to Remember sounds familiar I will have to check it out.
Thanks for the response. :)

I recommend that you watch The Holiday starring Kate Winslet, Cameron Diaz, Jack Black and Jude Law. This movie is one of my favorites because not only is the movie romantic but also because it empowers women to stand up for themselves and not to settle for anything less than what they deserve in a relationship. When I first watched this movie, I was going through a tough break-up and it was Kate Winslet's character that I related to the most. Her words and gumption in that movie helped me move on and just be happy. lol.
