With my busy schedule at work, I find it difficult to maintain the home clean. Teaching is a very tough job. Unlike other jobs, teaching is one of the most hard to do because you not only work during school hours. Most of the time, I cannot do all those stuffs at school and so I have to bring the works at home.
How do you maintain the neatness and cleanliness of your home when you are too busy with your work? Any suggestions will be of great help. Thanks a lot.

Cleaning is something that I love doing. They say that I could work as a helper in a hotel because of my fondness for cleaning. I used to clean on Mondays because it was my day off. But since then, ironically, now that I spend more time at home, I rarely clean the house. I just feel that sometimes I am the one left doing the chore.
Since the position of my room is near the front door, I always start cleaning my room. The next is the living room going to the kitchen. I spend the whole day cleaning the whole house and I must say, it is so taxing and gives me muscle pain.

i am a busy girl too like you. I do accounting works and render overtime almost every night to finish my tasks. I do have other task like selling every saturday too. Its a busy schedule and its hard to schedule the cleaning weekdays so i do it every weekend.
I do the cleaning every saturday evening and sunday morning. I start it with my room, fold clothes, changed my bed sheet, pillow cases and clean it all. The next morning i will just concentrate cleaning the kitchen, living room and storage area.
Its nice to have a clean surrounding so i also clean all of the mess in front of our house.
I think even we are busy, its good to maintain a clean room and house. Its nice to relax when all things are done. Remember to wear mask when cleaning and gloves when your doing toilet cleaning. That way you protect yourself from hazardous elements.
You need to treat yourself after cleaning though, like a warm bath and massage.
Happy mylotting and smile always!

cleaning? you don't really need to clean your house every single day. you just have to clean your house every saturday. don't clean your house during you work hours. imagine if you do it every saturday. lets say you gonna have 4 times cleaning your house per month, and that's a good thing becuase that's how i do it. don't be stress out. enjoy your work.

I am having a busy schedule too and I cannot afford to do any housework during the weekdays. Therefore I normally do all these first thing on Saturday morning so that I can have a comfortable home during the weekend. At times when I cannot do the housecleaning on Saturday, then I will do it immediately when I return home from work on Friday evening.
Since you do have hectic schedule, I will advise that you keep your house simple without much decorations. That will ease up the cleaning up process as the small items tends to store dust very easily.

I know teaching is a tough job...my dad was a teacher. I remember as a kid that he always seemed to have a mountain of work at home to do as well. He did spend time with my brothers and me but he used to sit up at night grading papers and planning the next days assignments etc. I've always had a crazy schedule. I know what you mean about maintaining the home. I learned to accept that my home was not always going to be as neat as I would like. I made sure the dishes were done...bathroom clean...I did my best to make it presentable . Things have slowed down some now and it is not so difficult but at one point I was working full time and had my own 3 children at home and was also babysitting my grandson on my days off from work so my oldest daughter who was moved out could work. Don't expect too much of yourself.

Hello,
I'am a mommy to a two year old, a wife to a darling hubby and a business owner to many customers who love hand designed specialty candles, and let me tell you I know what you are going through somtimes , it just seem like there are not many hours in a day, and theres to show you how, fast time goes by, What I do is never allow my home to get totally messy, I pretty much clean every day, light cleaning that is, when I use the bathroom I put some cleaner on a rag and just wipe the sinks out, then run the mop over the floor etc, when me and my family eats ,dishes are cleaned one by one, never any pile ups, I can't stand dirt dishes in the sink, I make my bed when I get out of it each day , so basically I just clean as I go, so there is never a pile up.
I hope this helps you some.
Happy My Lotting!

Normally I have a three year old that is running around my house, so it is quite hard to keep things nice and neat.. Also I have physical limitations that make it hard to keep things picked up and also do exactly what I need for the house.. How do I keep the house nice... Here is what I do; every time that I get up to go do something for my son, or use the bath room.. It does not matter, I pick up this or that.. Or I wash a load of dishes, and let them air dry.. Then about an hour later or the next day depending on when I did the dishes, I will put them away.. Normally I do not pick up toys during the day.. I just have my son keep his toys either in the living room or his room.. Then at night we will pick them up together.. After he goes to bed if the living room floor need vacuuming, I will do it really quick. Or if the kitchen floor need a mopping.. My son goes to his dad's every other month or so.. This is when I will take the time to do deep cleaning.. or at least that is the plan.. Then if I over do it, I do not have to worry about getting out of bed the next morning.. and I can start a job, take breaks, and if need be leave them for the next day without anything getting moved..

Not sure if you live alone, if someone else is there I would split the chores with them. Depending on how big your home is could help you decide how to clean it. Obviously, a large home would be harder to clean at one time so i would break it down into rooms and clean certain ones on different days. Cleaning the spot you used right after you use it would cut down on having to do it later and may also get you to cut back on making a mess knowing you have to clean it up right after. Week nights and weekends are different for you so you can decide how much time you want to devote to the days of the week. I think with a good plan and discipline you could handle your home chores very efficiently and may give you some time to relax. You're a teacher so you need some time for yourself and do some fun things you like without worrying about cleaning. Good luck.

Yes a partner can lessen the workload and also keeps boredom at bay coz you get to have someone talk with you or just by their mere presence, the work becomes less tedious and you also save time if you have someone with you to help clean the house.

Hi
I think a good idea is to keep things organized and return things to their original places after using them.
If you have a lot of cleaning to be done, ask some friends to help you over the weekend and then after you are done invite them out or watch a movie.
If you have a lot of cleaning, dont do all of it in one day, during the week you can have 15 min every day of the week for one place or location at your place...
I hope these helped.
Thx

When I had a job I would get up earlier and do a load of laundry before leaving for work. I would also prepare a meal either the night before or in the morning. As for cleaning the house completely I would set aside two hours on Saturday morning and clean the bathroom and kitchen, finish laundry, dust, vacuum and mop. Then I would go outside and moe the lawn or clean up leaves if needed. That would go into three hours of working but it had to get done. Now that I'm not working I try to do alittle each day.

Hello annierose this is checkmail and do clean my house at least two/three times in a month, its mostly on sunday. When all are at home.We just begin with managing our clothes first than arrangement in the kitchen, then look after bathroom.Later we clean all the dirt using dusters and vacum cleaner, and later with some water.
Basically its not that all messy so less time is required. If we daily try to maintain our working in home, we can keep it clean enough.

1st separate your professional life and personal life.
second keep yourself clean means take care of yourself.
third keep your surrounding clean.
it is always lie that we are too busy. count your time. i used to clean my clothes every day at least two pair, cook for my self good food, do exercise for 30 minutes(breathing exercise, yoga, then go office at Sharpe 9.25 am. as you have porblem in returning timing me also face same. if i am unable to complete all the files then keep it on reminder sheet updated and return home and again cook some dinner and then net surfing at 9.30 to 11.00 and then dinner and sleep.
i am very busy as i have to handle whole branch operations. but thing is me always first. and no waste of time.

Because of our work, we also have a very busy schedule. But my husband has allergy and we cannot neglect cleanliness as dusts can cause his allergy to become severe. What we do is we clean our room twice a month wearing protective masks and we use vacuum instead of sweeping the floor so the dusts will not mix with air then we use Glade in our appliances. It also serves as a work out. And the room really looks nice if it is squeaky clean.
