i dont know really but i think they left it somewhere so that they didnt use the sharpeners frequently...

Sometimes it's easier to write with a dull pencil, sharp pencils sometimes write unevenly and can tear your paper, or leave the dust behind right after you sharpen it which gets irritating. That's why I use mechanical pencils. :)

Pencil sharpening is something parents should take care for their new pupils. Too dull of course does not writes good, but too shart is neither good. If time is allowed, better sharpen them with a knife, instead of the sharpener.

I think the more sharp the pencil the more chances are that its tip will break which is not the case with dull pointed pencils. Also dull pencils can be used for specific tasks while drawing like designing which cannot be done by sharp pencils.
