Lot of movies have come out based on famous novels. What do yo feel..?? Which one is better..?? The movies or the original novels..?? I feel that the novels are better cos they give us a better way of imagination and also they portray more details than movies.. The movies suffer the limitation of technology and time frame.. Well tats my opinion.. Yo ppl come up with yours and don forget to state the reasons.

Hi jeeva, I love reading and rarely find a movie to live up to the book, as you say the book inspires imagination which rarely is lived up to by the film version. An exception to that would be when a film is so well cast and sticks to the story line. 'Gone with the Wind' is a perfect example of a film which captures the novel perfectly and each character was perfectly cast.
I remember being so excited when a friend sent me a video of our mutual favourite book 'Eleni' by Nicolas Gage. Although Kate Nelligan was brilliantly cast as Eleni herself the film did not follow the story line of the book, which is a factual tale. I was so disappointed in the film version which completely lacked the depth, emotion and history of this wonderful book.

hi,
its angels and demons ...the same thrill in reading as been there in watching movies too..tom hanks has made sure he fit that role well.....all the above the sets of vatican city and the cinematography are excellent..to me that is the best adoption i would say...

That is hard to say. I usually see the movie instead of reading the novel. I think a few of the John Gresham books I have read the novel and seen the movie. Presumed Innccent is an example of that. I also read Skipping Christmas and watched the movie.
There was a lot more detail in the book than there was in the movie. In general, I think that is the way that it is.

hi. As far as i am concerned I would go with novel. It is not that I don't like movies It is that I believe in elaboration of things in novel as it is not time bound. on the contrary, technologies are always in movies. I liked Angels and demons novel than the movie itself. cheers
