nursing a parent or grandparent is it difficult?

I think it is really hard especially when your grandparents or parents has full of angst and issues from the past that they haven't overcome yet despite of their age. It's happening to us right now. We really have a hard time trying to understand our lola (grandmother). She's full of speculations, suspicions and accused us false accusations. She's really disturb right now and lately she's being violent. She showered a water to the children who are just passing through. Shouting our neighbors starting a fight and worsen this past days she try stab my mother with a knife, Because she believes that my mother is poisoning her ,want her dead and we as her grandchildren are accessories. LOL! I don't know if its just part of growing old or she's going crazy. Can anyone relate to this hardships or it's an isolated case and we're the lucky one to get this test. ^_^
