hi there--that's a good idea, though you really have to iron everything out at least 3 weeks before your wedding so you won't get too harassed on your wedding day--assigning someone on the day itself would be a good idea---I have a quick question--what kind of motif do you have in mind for your wedding? And where will the reception be held? So we'll have a better idea of what to suggest I wish you all the best for your wedding hope to hear from you soon & I'll try to suggest next time :)

Your wedding motif is pretty cool For a simple yet festive decor, you could use balloons in those colors---you could have them strung along the sides of the ceiling in alternating black, pink, and white balloons---or you could also have some streamers going down the walls (maybe you could use crepe paper, which is less expensive--have them taped on the walls) maybe what you could do is to have the pink to be the widest, then running along the middle would be black crepe (thinner width) then white (thinnest width) running along the middle--pretty cool---
Your flowers along the aisles could be pink & white daisies (or other flowers of your choice, they're cheaper by the bulk) tied by black ribbons--pretty elegant---then your tables could also have centerpieces in them what you could do is to put candles as centerpieces for the tables--one quick but cheap way to accent your votive candles would be to put a touch of red (this'll turn pink if you mix with water, just drops, depends on how dark pink you want it to be) you could just use those plastic champagne glasses put the pink water in & float white votive candles, then tie the stem with black ribbon --voila--nice centerpiece--
Then your souvenirs could be tiny black boxes, just fill them with black & pink m& m's or you could just use black, pink & white m&m's & wrap them in clear plastic bags tied with a ribbon--here are a couple of links for the candies & other ideas for black & pink weddings--hope you get ideas from it :) tell me what happens on your wedding ok--excited for you http://www.nycityweddings.com/chat/topic-189029-1.html and http://search.cartserver.com/search/search.cgi?cartid=s-1120&category=List&maxhits=2000&keywords="colorworks"&go=Search

What I would do is actually make a scrapbook of your time with your fiancee therefore at the reception and before the wedding takes people have something to look through to see your journey together. A lot of people make them and then afterward you can keep it for you guys to have just to look back on. Therefore you're making something that not only is going to be a use at the wedding but for the rest of your time together.

Here's a very simple table decoration. You go to the dollar store and get some of the tube vases. Put some rocks or colored craft stone in the bottom. Take two pictures of yourselves and laminate them together so both sides have a picture. Stick that in the vase...fill with water and top with a floating candle. I saw there at a wedding recently....they were beautiful! And inexpensive.

I personally wouldnt recommend doing it. My family made some decorations for a wedding reception of mine and they did not turn out to be nice at all. They looked pretty tacky as a matter of fact. I would advise against it, but if you are artistic they might be nice, making bells, doves etc. My friend made some bell shaped cookies with decorations for me one time. These really turned out nice.
